気温の高い南国だから、道路脇に... 気温の高い南国だから、道路脇にゴミ置き場はなく、乙女の祈りの音楽と一緒にやって来るゴミ収集車に自分で投げ込む。それも夜。 ゴミ収集車
屏東の（台湾全国かも）家庭ゴミ収集車は、毎日19時ごろ「乙女の祈り」の音楽を大音響で流しながら、やって来る。この音楽を合図に近所の老若男女が家庭ゴミを持ってやって来る。外国人の僕の頭の中にさえ、この乙女の祈りは、ゴミ収集車到来の合図とイコールだ。台湾人にとってそれはもっと強烈な合図の音楽だろう。
作曲者テクラ・バダジェフスカ（女性ピアニスト・作曲家）もまさかこんな使われ方をするとは、思いもよらなかったことでしょう！
