This is a good article that attempts to explain the large increase in premiums that some people who have individual healthcare policies will be experiencing in the coming months. The OIC is doing a good job of trying to keep rates in line but the cost of medical procedures continues to increase as well.
The democrates are running away for the healthcare reform act. Those that voted against it and saying so in ads in their districts. Those that voted for it are keeping very quiet. Maybe there not so proud of their accomplishments.
Interesting election article
Next year the tax on the distributions from a health savings account (HSA) that are not used for qualified medical expenses will increase from 10% to 20%. This may not seam like a big deal, but it is just one more of the little issues in the new healthcare law.
Part of the Healthcare Reform will require small employers to enroll their employees in a longterm care program. The employee will have to opt out. so the presssure is on the employee to pay attention and the employer to keep the employee informed.
This is a very interesting study for those of us that like to tip a couple once in a while. It is an article writen by a research group from the University of Texas about heavy, moderate an non-drinkers.

Paula and I just returned from a great three days in Victoria, BC. We took the Victoria Clipper up there and back and that was a wonderful ride. We met some good friends and saw all the sights and ate are way through the city. The Butchart Gardens were especially beautiful.
We have been working with PSP for the last few weeks developing a new website for FSMG. It is almost complete. The site looks great and I am anxious for it to go live. It looks like we will be live in a couple of weeks, if not sooner. I would especially like to thank Yuka at PSP for all her help and professional input in the development of this site. I'll let you know as soon as we go live!!!
I am going to be playing today at Harbour Point in the golf tournament supporting Snohomish County Credit Union League. FSMG is sponsoring a hole as well as playing. The weather is going to be great. Now all I have to do is get my game going.
I have just completed my last continuing education exam; and I PASSED. I am now done with all this for another year!!!
When you have both insurance and security licenses, there are several tests that you have to take to keep everything current. This is what I am up to these days. Yesterday, today & tomorrow will be test taking for me. Then is should be over for at least a year.
