Victorian Garden renovation

Victorian Garden renovation I renovated this victorian garden in Escondido, CA. The house was built in 1896, The owner asked me to renovate it to victrian garden, I did the best I could.
Tihis house is registered as Natinal Registry, and was featured on San Diego Union, North County Times, San Diego Home and Garden and Broadcasted on Restore America of HGTV.

Small rear garden

Small rear garden I used the unique materials to create patio, checker board patio with dwarf mondo grass planted 2" on center.
This garden has been published on the nationwide garden magazine and local San Dieg magazine.

8 hours a day and 30 days to make this.

8 hours a day and 30 days to... I started to think.... I want to make something unique..

So I ended up to make this pot which is a water fountain.
After several mistakes and a lot of thinking, and templates making as well.

It consists of thousands of small ganite pieces glue together from the bottom. It became one piece of art work.

Most Creative Design

Most Creative Design I diplayed this design at Del Mar Fair in 2003.
It is called " The desert meets the ocean"
A big mosaic with sun, moon and cloud was placed and a whale was on the water. Surrounding landscape was bulit with the boulders, gravels, and desert plants.

This design was awarded Most Creative Design.

6000LB is in the pond after all. Crane placed it in the koi pond and now it shoot the jet stream from it.

A huge crane must be used for 6000LB!

A huge crane must be used fo... For the last project, to place 6000 pound boulder into koi pond, a huge crane was hired.

This boulder looks floating in the water and the jet stream of water shoots in the air.

Water spouts from the stonewall

Water spouts from the stonewall Precisely hand stacked stonewall was constructed over the koi pond and I installed two water spouts for the water movement.

Koi pond holds 5000 gallon of water and all concrete construction with two 3" drains at the bottom of pond and one skimmer for the suction. I installed two pumps and two bio filters, two UV lights for the maximum filtering. Water is crystal clear all the time.

my garden design was on the ... One of my garden design was featured on the coverpage of recent local magazine "San Diego Home and Garden".
Actually, this project was awarded the first Plutinum certification of LEED program in San Diego. I did a landscaoe design and actual installation. The construction was very challenging because there were many custom design features involved. Koi pond vessel was intergrated with the house foudation.
This design was consist of koi pond, a waterfall, stonewall with two water spouts and japanese garden surrouning it.
This house design is very contemporary, so my garden design was organic, water movement creates very peaceful moment.
