Kenichi Uchikura is the founder and CEO of Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. (PSPINC), a technology company based in the Seattle area. After graduating from Azusa Pacific University in 1983, he began his professional career in Japan before being assigned to establish his employer’s Seattle subsidiary. That international business experience laid the foundation for his entrepreneurial journey.
In 1987, Uchikura founded PSPINC, building the company into a long-standing provider of software development, web hosting, business communications, and SaaS solutions serving clients in both the United States and Japan. Originally known for Japanese software localization and cross-cultural technology services, PSPINC evolved alongside the growth of the Internet into a provider of digital infrastructure, custom web applications, and business communication platforms.
For nearly four decades, Uchikura has focused on helping organizations leverage technology to improve communication, strengthen customer relationships, and expand business opportunities. His work reflects a commitment to innovation, practical problem-solving, and fostering business connections between Japan and the United States.
MacMail does not seem to handle SSL connection very well. So, if you are having problem communication with email server using MacMail, you might want to turn off (uncheck) SSL connection.
This picture shows the SSL connection being checked. To get to this screen, select Mail Menu Preference --- Select Account --- Advanced Tab
This SSL connection issue is specific to MacMail software. There is no connection issue that we know about iPhone or iPad Mail software.
We created clear plastic covers to cover empty spots on the server rack to make sure no cold air travels without going through servers. We found this to be very effective way to utilize as close to 100% of cool air.
Why Should You Consider PSPINC for your Web and Email Hosting?
Aren’t all hosting companies basically the same? If so, why shouldn’t you just choose the cheapest option for your web and email? This argument would be valid if the idea that “all hosting companies are the same” was true, but that is just not the case. When you look at websites of hosting companies, they all look alike. In fact, even I can’t tell why some hosting companies’ prices are so much different from others.
So we should really look at the history of web and email outsourcing. When we started our hosting business in 1996, we provided a mere 10MB of web and 10MB of email storage for $75 per month, which was very inexpensive at the time. Currently, we provide 1,000 times the space for both web and email for about $21 per month. If you were to pay the same rate as you were 1996, your current service from PSPINC would cost $75,000. This means we have reduced our price 99.972% in last 16 years.
One reason we could do this is because we build all our infrastructure and back-end software ourselves. We own and constantly update and upgrade our software and hardware to remain up-to-date and competitive without over-spending. We do not license software from other companies. We are primarily a hosting company, but we are also a software development company with almost 25 years of industry experience. We have been building software since the days of MD-DOS, Apple Talk and 8086 Assembly Language. I have worked with IBM mainframe network SNA since I graduated from the college in 1983. I have been working with large-area private and public network since when there was no internet or even Compuserve or AOL.
Are we better than other hosting companies? Because different clients have different needs, I can’t comment on “better or worse”, but we are certainly different. Our pricing is about same as any other major hosting company in the US or around the world, but we can serve you better because we built our products ourselves. If there is a problem, we can fix it right away rather than wait for the original software development company. We can communicate with the most sophisticated engineers and web developers because we know what we are doing.
So when you are choosing which company to trust with your web and email, you should give us a call. We are a different kind of hosting company, working to provide the most reliable and affordable solutions for your business needs. We are different and proud of it.

I purchased iPhone Case with Battery. With this, I don't have to worry about running out of juice by the end of the day. This one was on sale and was available for $15. Not bad at all.
As you know, we have upgraded your email server system from POP3 to IMAP/POP3. Using IMAP allows you to sync email between your PC and any mobile devices, like a tablet or smartphone.
If you have decided to move from POP3 to IMAP, great! However, please read these instructions before making the changeover, or else you may inadvertently lose all of your email, like I just did (fortunately I had everything backed up).
First, to recap, the difference between POP3 and IMAP is that you store your all your email on your PC with POP3, and on a server with IMAP. When you switch from POP3 to IMAP, all your new email will stay on the server, but do not forget that all your old emails are still on your PC. This is what I did. Once I had set up IMAP on my PC and made sure it worked, I deleted my POP3 setup on my mail software, which also deleted all the email stored on my PC.
That is what you should not do when you switch to IMAP.
The first step to properly switching to IMAP is to take your POP3 email client software offline, meaning it will not send or receive any email. Once your email software is offline, create a backup of your email. Once this is done, instead of the modifying current POP3 setup to IMAP (which many email clients will not let you do anyway), create a new account within your email client for IMAP. Send or receive an email to make sure IMAP is working.
When that is complete, you should have both POP3 (now offline) and IMAP (now working) set up on your email client. That is how the system should work while you are transitioning your email from POP3 to IMAP.
You can then start copying emails from your PC to the IMAP server by creating folders for the IMAP account, and dragging and dropping email from your PC to the server. When all your emails are moved or copied to the IMAP server and you confirm that they are there, you can delete the POP3 account from your email software.
Remember, IMAP takes a lot of disk space on the server, so make sure you have enough for all your email. If you do not have enough space on the server, you will need to add more space by asking your provider, in this case PSP Inc.
IMAP is a wonderful system for people who have more than one device they use to access email, but to take advantage of it, you need to transfer your email safely. If you need assistance transferring from POP3 to IMAP, PSP Inc. support is happy to work with you.

Metaphor: People say don't judge a book by its cover. Well, that is not possible. People see what people see. So, make sure you present yourself as what you are.
Creating a panorama picture is easy using software like PhotoStitch which came with Canon camera. The original pictures were taken using iPhone and I used PhotoStitch to put them together.

Oh, I forgot to tell you. Walgreens have CFL Light Bulbs for sale at 79 cents each. No coupon needed. If you can live with the CFL Light Bulbs with no cover like ones in the picture, they are 2 for $1.
I don't know if this is happening at every Walgreens locations, but I was at 140th and NE 8th in Bellevue.
This one is only one block a way from our office. It is at Walgreen on 140th and NE 8th in Bellevue. With more charging stations (many of the are FREE), t starting make more and more sense to own a EV.
PSPINC is experimenting with NISSAB LEAF as one of our fleet cars. PSPINC uses lots of electricity running over 500 servers at our data centers. So we are doing everything we can to reduce energy usages.
Did you know the market capitalization for Apple is higher than Microsoft, Google and Yahoo combined?
Either Apple is insanely good or Microsoft and Google are very cheap now.
We are able to find a DREE CHARGING station in the parking lot of downtown Seattle. It is a great service as most EV has only about 80 miles of range. Thanks!
This movie was a hit when I was sent by Japanese company to open a office in Seattle, Washington. I was 27 then. I did not know within one year from the release of this movie, I would start Pacific Software Publishing, Inc.
When I started Pacific Software Publishing, Inc., Japanese style management would never work in the US, and Japanese people told me American style management would never work in the company dealing with Japan.
I never manage Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. either Japanese way nor American way. It was my way.

IMAP Now Available for All DreamersI.netUsers. But What Does That Mean?
I do not wish to bore you with the technical details about how email systems in work, but it is worth mentioning what the IMAP service means for you.
Until now, all email PSPINC provided was using a system called POP. POP works like regular mail that you get from the post office. When email comes to your inbox, you go out to get it. When you take out the mail and read it, the mailbox becomes empty again. All email that you receive through a POP system is stored in mail software like Outlook, Live Mail, Thunderbird or Mac Mail.
IMAP is different. When you receive email using IMAP, you are not downloading the email to your computer, it stays in the server. You read, file, organize, reply to, and delete all your email on the server instead of on your computer. You can always download any and all email to your PC anytime you wish, but the purpose of IMAP is to manage all your email on the server.
So Why Would You Want IMAP Over POP?
There are basically two reasons you may want to use IMAP. The main reason would be multiple device support. Because emails are managed on the server rather than after they are downloaded to your computer, all devices that access mailbox on the server can see emails the way they are stored in the server. So, when you delete email from your computer, the same email is deleted from your inbox when you check it from your smart phone or tablet. This is a great feature to have if you check your email from multiple devices like PC, Laptop, Tablet, and Smart Phone.
The second reason why you might want to use IMAP is security. Because all emails are stored on the server, when you lose your computer, it will not hold any email that may contain sensitive information. All you have to do is to change the password, and your email cannot be accessed from your lost computer.
Is IMAP for Everybody?
No, it is not. Because your emails stay on the server all the time, you cannot access your email when you are cut off from the Internet. However, since people are more connected to the Internet than ever, this may not be much of a problem anymore. But for this very reason, our new mail service supports both POP and IMAP.
Another item that one must consider is storage space on the server. The minimum setting for DreamersI.net is 10GB of storage space for 10 email accounts, which should be enough for a few years of email for average business use. However, because IMAP stores all emails on the server, you many need to add more space unless you delete old emails to make space for new ones, which you can always do for a nominal fee. Just ask a PSP Inc. representative.
We are upgrading your email service to a new server, but it should be exactly the same to you. We are even moving your email from the old server as well. When the move is complete, PSP Inc. will notify you. From then on, you will be able to use new IMAP feature on DreamersI.net.
Setting Up IMAP On Your Email Software
If you would like to setup your email clients to work as IMAP, please contact PSP Inc. and our qualified support staff will be glad to help you make the transition. Thank you for choosing DreamersI.net and PSPINC.

I just received email from Apple telling me that my iPad is delayed for for days. To make sure, they are offering the loaner iPad to be delivered on the original day. Just read the email ... they are really concerned about what people think of them.
Our diesel generators are topped off with 40 gallons of diesel fuel each. Each generator has 120 gallon tank, so we used about 1/3 since the last refueling ... I don't even remember when it was.
There are two Walmart stores opening in Bellevue, Washington. One of them is at Factoria Mall where MERVINS used to be. We never had Walmart in Bellevue before and the nearest one is at Renton about 15~20 miles away. Both sites are too small to be Walmart Super Stores, but you will never know. It will be interesting.
I get many email saying 40% off 52% off and 60% off. I see them every day from variety of services. I am getting tired of this. They don't look attractive any more. I need 70 to 90% off.
I was at Northwest Minority Supplier Development Council Award Dinner and Auction last night. There are a few things on the silent auction tables, but there are two items that were not getting any bids when I walked by. They are Windows 7 Mobile Phones from AT&T.
There are three problems with thoseWindows Phones.
(1) It is Windows Phone not iPhone
(2) Even when you buy it at cheaper than what you can get, you need a contact from AT&T.
(3) Many tomes with two year contact from AT&T, you get those phone for very cheap ... cheaper than the starting bid of those phones.
We are planning to release a software that resides in the Windows Server to monitor the activities. When a service or an application becomes inactive (unresponsive) this software kills the service or application and restart it.
If the service or application fails to restart, the software reboot the Windows Server and alert the administrator what it did. This automates many of the problems Windows Server administrators have to do.
This software has been in use at PSPINC data center for more than 8 years. We are finally making this available to you. For more information, contact me at ken.uchikura@pspinc.com.
The code name for this product is called "NT Reboot".
