Kenichi Uchikura
Founder & CEO, Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. (PSPINC)
Bellevue, Washington
Kenichi Uchikura is the founder and CEO of Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. (PSPINC), a technology company based in the Seattle area. After graduating from Azusa Pacific University in 1983, he began his professional career in Japan before being assigned to establish his employer’s Seattle subsidiary. That international business experience laid the foundation for his entrepreneurial journey.
In 1987, Uchikura founded PSPINC, building the company into a long-standing provider of software development, web hosting, business communications, and SaaS solutions serving clients in both the United States and Japan. Originally known for Japanese software localization and cross-cultural technology services, PSPINC evolved alongside the growth of the Internet into a provider of digital infrastructure, custom web applications, and business communication platforms.
For nearly four decades, Uchikura has focused on helping organizations leverage technology to improve communication, strengthen customer relationships, and expand business opportunities. His work reflects a commitment to innovation, practical problem-solving, and fostering business connections between Japan and the United States.
Today is the last day of State Monopoly on Liquor distribution. And the State owned Liquor stores are busy selling off all inventories ... well, that is what you and I think. No, not a State Liquor Store in Bellevue. They decided to close the store temporary so that they can count what they have in the store. It is called inventory. I guess they never cared how much inventory they had.
My iPhone's camera stop focusing. So, I took it to an Apple Store ... they replaced my phone and I had to take it to the Sprint store. Now I am restoring all data from iCloud.
This is the no-charge confirmation email I received from Apple.
Fuji Heavy Industry (our client in Washington State) is the parent company of Subaru. They helped us get new car in Torrance at heavily discounted price. The car is a brand new Subaru Impreza 2.0i 5 Door.
I just filled up my 2011 Honda Accord ... it cost me about $70 to fill up. Ouch. I am driving one of the most fuel efficient cars but it still hurts.
There is no reason for the gas price to be this high. Oil companies are blaming on Iraq and cost of crude oil while they are making the record profit. What is with that? Those companies are publicly traded and they have responsibilities to the public, don't they?
I feel sorry for people and companies who are driving trucks and buses for their business. I don't real feel sorry for people riding big V8 engine cars. That is their choice.
Finally we are installing EV Charging Station at our headquarters parking. VECA Electric is installing it for us.
If you own a EV like LEAF, you can now charge at PSPINC. Just let us know we will let you hook up. Did you know PSPINC purchases alternate energy from Puget Sound Energy? So when you charge at PSPINC, you are not only charing your Eco EV, you are charging using electricity from an alternate energy source.
It is not a good idea to have engineers work on the user interface.
"$0.00 Extra Skype Credit $2 "
This is what I got at Skype website when I enter my credit. What is this mean?
Skype is now a part of Microsoft. This is the problem of Microsoft. Microsoft has way too many engineers who have no idea what users think.
When you buy product or service from a company, don't you choose the company you have heard or know about? The only way that people get to know you and your company is by looking at your web presence. That means, you want to update your home pages often.
Updating your home page is not easy or cheap. Blog enables you to do that at no cost. So, blog often. People like to know you via blog.
Here is a commercial. Why should you use Bloguru?
Bloguru is the only blog that is available with no advertisement. Other blog sites are full of advertisement and as a business owner you do not want to advertise other companies.
I played golf with one and only Mr. Jesse Jones (King 5) at Aldarra today. I met him last year at Lenny Wilkens Foundation and he is going to help us at PSPINC 25th Anniversary this year. I shot 39 for the first 9 but I shot 50 in the back. So ended up 89. I could have, should have done better ... No I can't.
You may have noticed that the categories for bloguru postings have been reorganized. If you feel that we need to add any other categories, please let us know.
I am trying very hard to understand how to setup a cash register. Yes, a cash register.
I am reading manuals, but I don't understand what it is saying.
Why do you need a price for the department?
My team has developed online payment web page at PARATEX.COM. It is a secure payment system using "USA ePay" gateway service. Also we do host paratex.com and we have implemented SSL to make transmission secure for all the users. The site stores no credit card information, so that your information is completely secure.
My iPhone was locked on portrait position. To unlock the screen, you need to double click on iPhone home button (one button facing you just below the screen). When the icon appears at the bottom, swipe it right one. The icon on the very left of the list is the lock and unlock button. Clock it once to unlock and once again to lock.
I installed Microsoft Office for Mac yesterday and started create a presentation this morning.
I used to use PowerPoint a lot so that I thought I know how to use it. What the hell wrong this software? Why do you need so many options and menus to just create a simple text and box with no decorations? I have been working on this simple one page for hours. Why is the menu taking up much space on my screen? Who is the designer of this useless software?
Just look at the railing of the fire escape on this old brick building in downtown Seattle. It is not viewed by public since it is not facing the main street but look at the detail on this. It is beautiful.
I learned from this for the software design. When we design a software, we just don't make it look pretty and function, but attention to detail behind the scene is as important.
My Golf handicap is still at 13.9 ... considering how bad I played last two weekends, I am lucky to be still under 14. need to shoot sub 90 to maintain this handicap. I ordered 3 wood. When I get that that I will replace my driver with it.

This is a phishing email I received today. I know this is a phishing because...
(1) It is send to my regular email address plus few that I don't use.
(2) We do not use DHL.
(3) They used my email address as my name
If you receive something like this email, do not open it.
What is Phishing?
The act of sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft.
Mayumi Nakamura and Tiny has same birthday. Tiny turned 10 today. I cannot comment how young Mayumi is...
Tiny is 10, Pompom is 9 and half. They are getting up there ... I hope they live long. They are very lucky dogs. Most dogs stay at home when their owners go to work. They get to come to work and spend time with people and other dogs all day. PSPINC is a dog friendly company.
I switched from 15" MacBook Pro to 13" MacBook Pro. It is little lighter but the screen is very small. It is good enough for email but not foe anything else. For that I think MacBook Air or even iPad is good enough.
PSPINC is hosting free web development seminars starting next month. After developing your web site, if you decide to host the web site with PSPINC ($250/year including domain registration), we give you a brand new Sony Bloggie HD Video and Still Camera ($200 value).
This is the first internal demo of the new product/service that R&D has been working on for months. We still have ways to go, but this product/service will add quite a value to our hosting services.
I heard today All Nippon Airways (ANA) is starting to fly between Seattle to Narita July 25 this year using Boeing 777-300ER which will be replaced by 787 when it became available. Good news.
I have retired my MacBook Pro 15" today which I purchased back in March 2007. Can you believe I used this MacBook Pro for 5 years and never failed once.
I put it back in the original box it came in. If I remember right, I spent $2,000 at CompUSA. Originally it had 1GB RAM and 120GB Hard Disk. It now has 4GB RAM and 300GB Hard Disk. It will go on the display case at PSPINC HQ Lobby. This MacBook Pro served very well.
Did you know PSPINC has been audited by CPA (MOSS-ADAMS) for over 10 years. The firs few years are by another CPA. I am holding 2011 audited statement.
I know it is getting more difficult to get good URL (Web Address), but I personally do not recommend long URL. It is just too many places people can make mistake.
Today is Monday in Japan and is the first working day after long holidays called "Golden Week". We expect email usage to peak around 5~6PM Seattle time (9~10:00am Japan Time). Some of us are at work monitoring the servers. We need to make sure there is no delay.
May 7th will be the first working day out of long holiday in Japan started on April 27th. This is called Golden Week holiday in Japan.
What is the significance of that to PSPINC in the US?
Well, for many people in Japan, this is the first day of work after 9 off days. That means on Monday we can expect as m,ugh as 10 times the email traffic as usual. This Monday puts more stress on our servers than any other days of the year.
Our server software is optimized enough so that it should have no problem, but just in case, we are standing by to act if there is something.
We have purchased several HD Web Cam and placed around the company buildings to record what is going on into our servers. This is completely home made system. Cameras are very good deterrent against crime. Since we placed the cameras and housings around the property, we have seen no problem, not even people smoking around the buildings.
PSPINC is in the process of making the SPAM filtering more strict (to catch more SPAM). To do this, we are adjusting the threshold by 1% every week starting this week. We are asking our customers to report to us as soon as they start seeing false stamping of regular email as SPAM by our filtering system.
Thank you for using PSPINC as your email outsourcing company.
PSPINC started Web and Email hosting back in 1986 using Windows NT. Yes, we hosted everything using Windows NT. We still host Windows Servers, but we have developed a monitoring and automated recovery tool called "NT Reboot". Without it, Windows Servers are just not stable enough.
For the first time we are making "NT Reboot" available to public. Please check it out. Oh, we made it free too. If you wish to contribute to our team, we appreciate it. Here is the link.
