Kenichi Uchikura is the founder and CEO of Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. (PSPINC), a technology company based in the Seattle area. After graduating from Azusa Pacific University in 1983, he began his professional career in Japan before being assigned to establish his employer’s Seattle subsidiary. That international business experience laid the foundation for his entrepreneurial journey.
In 1987, Uchikura founded PSPINC, building the company into a long-standing provider of software development, web hosting, business communications, and SaaS solutions serving clients in both the United States and Japan. Originally known for Japanese software localization and cross-cultural technology services, PSPINC evolved alongside the growth of the Internet into a provider of digital infrastructure, custom web applications, and business communication platforms.
For nearly four decades, Uchikura has focused on helping organizations leverage technology to improve communication, strengthen customer relationships, and expand business opportunities. His work reflects a commitment to innovation, practical problem-solving, and fostering business connections between Japan and the United States.
PSPINC started public beta testing of image storage and sharing service Photo Stork. If you are interested in the beta testing please let us know. This system was design to store and publish multiple photos to promote your business.
Today is my mother's 80th birthday. I can not believe she is 80 ... She also llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllooo Oh my god, a cat walked on my computer. She also tells me that she cannot believe she is 80.
You can buy Microsoft Office Chinese Version software package in Japan from Amazon. This software sells for US$35 ... You can install it in English and have it registered and activated by Microsoft. It is big loophole.
It was very smooth and fast flight to Tokyo. It took only about 9 and half hours. Thais is about an hour faster than usual. Because I arrived in Narita so fast, I was able to book a connecting flight to Osaka on JAL.
When I arrive in Narita, DELTA concierge person greeted me. I was not expecting that. But she took care of all JAL booking for me. That was very nice and I am very thankful. This will make you want to fly DELTA.
I am at Seatac airport waiting for my flight. I saw ANA boarding ... when I looked at it, ANA is using 777 instead of 787. I'd rather fly 777 than 787.
If you find the domain name you like but you do not know what you use it for, you should just park it. PSPINC provide a domain parking service for $10.95 that includes .com and .net domain registration.
This is an old photo I found inside a book. This picture was taken on January 17, 1995 in Ashiya Japan where may parents lived. The 7 floor condo (Ashiya Sunny Hill) became inhabitable after this day. I am so happy that the building was standing after 7.2 earthquake. They lived on 5th floor.
Seattle - Narita served by All Nippon Airways 787 not flying at this point. ANA cancelled all the flights between Seattle and Narita, Japan.
I am lucky that I booked my flight on Delta not ANA. It is going to be full flight as ANA must relocate all booked passengers. ANA owns 17 787 Dreamliners and they have reallocated 787 with other plains but I guess they do not have anything to replace 787 flying between Seattle to Narita.
18 Years ago today, I got a call from one of my customers in Japan telling me that there was a big earthquake where near my parents lived. I called my home and got connected and talk to my folks for about 10 minuets. I was not able to communicate with them for next three days.
6,000+ people died from the earthquake and fire. There were more than 600 people died from the city where I came from. I arrived in Japan within one week and got to my parents house. There were still many aftershocks and there were no running gas or water. People are taking bath at the temporary hot bath setup by the defense army.
From this experience, Japanese government learned to accept the help from overseas. They did not accept anyone from overseas for help when this earthquake happened. But they did accept help from overseas when the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsumani happened.
Whether we like it or not, disaster happens. All we can do is to prepared and hope for the best.
Lunch with my patent attorney at Seattle Rainer Club. Yes, I finally have original patent paper filed and approved. This is my first patent. I ma asking my patent attorney to research another patent for me.
We have just released new HTML 5 clocks at http://www.clocklinl.com
Unlike Flash based Clocks HTML 5 clocks can be displayed on Apple iOS devices such as iPhone and iPad. In addition, Window 8 Metro browser has no issue displaying HTML 5 Clocks.
One of the most confusing things about Windows 8 is that it can run two types of application programs which can be accessed from same interface.
One is a traditonal Windows application and another is Metro application. For instance there are two versions of Internet Explorers on Windows 8. One that comes standard with Metro Interface is not the same version as you run from your desktop.
I guess metro applications are design as a Tablet or smartphone application. This makes Windows 8 very confusing and hard to adopt to.
To Access your Explorer ... Press Windows and E Key.
I found out how to capture and save screen to the file. To capture a creen on your computer, pressdown on Windows Key and presss PRNTSCR (Print Scree). This action captures the scren and save it to your Pictures under your Library.
It seems that web hosting is becoming a price war. Companies are competing to see who can give more for less money. I refuse to be involved in that kind of game. We rather spend money in R&D and provide you with something that your company really need.
Domain Registration, Web Space and Email Server are just the basics. We are now developing tools that works on top of those basics to help small businesses get the same level of tools and support of Enterprise Users.
I have to make sure you know that our price has never been expensive!!!
It was not so hard getting Windows 8 to be installed. It was very smooth and did not take too long at all. May be because I selected the clean install.
Looking at Windows 8 screen ... I have no clue where to go or what to do. I will start fooling around with it. One other thing, after the install I realized the wireless network is not working. I found the update at computer hardware site.
I realized that I do not use my Windows Laptop that much. I do use my iPad more to do things. So, I have nothing much to loose if I lost my Windows Laptop. So, I decided to upgrade to Windows 8. I purchased recent enough that this PC can be up graded for just $14.99.
I am doing it right now. I let you know how it goes,
I bought a huge sandwich with full of ham and turkey at Safeway. When I came back and cut it open, the meats are only on the opening side and back there is nothing.
What does Safeway want to prove?
Only thing they are proving is that they cheat customers.
I won't buy this sandwich again.
PSPINC is an American Corporation having its office only in the USA. However, our major revenue source is from Japan where outsourcing of the internet web and email servers are more popular. People in the US are starting to realize the benefit of outsourcing web and email recently.
The sushi roll you see here is very popular in the US but was never heard of in japan until recently. It is true Japanese American Hybrid.
KanjiWORD is one of the very first software package that PSPINC published in the US. This software enabled non Japanese version of Windows 3.1 to process Japanese text. That was back in 1993~1994 ... two years before PSPINC start its Internet hosting business.
The last technical support for KanjiWORD was just last year. One of the user lost the 3.5" installation diskette. We try to replace it but we realized that we did not have any computer in our company with disk drive. We needed to take one of the PSPINC display computer to duplicate the disk.
I heard female re-enters a car when you start pumping the gas into a car. Most guys stay outside until it is done. That is the reason why people who drive a way with the gas nozzle attached are females.
It is not safe to reenter into a car while you are fueling according to this sign at Chevron Station.
I will be traveling to Japan from January 23 to February 6. I will be flying Delta from Seattle to Narita, Japan. I will be staying at Takanawa Prince Hotel Sakura Tower in Tokyo from January 30 to February 6.
I booked this hotel using online booking site. I think I got the room cheaper than any Japanese web site. I like this note because it is not a huge hotel but good location and easy access to the airport and railways.
Many small business owners have opened the Facebook accounts and use them to promote their business. I have done the same but I learned that is not how it should work. You create PAGE which looks and act like an Facebook Account to promote your business.
In my case, I own https://www.facebook.com/uchikura account. I use thios account to create following pages to promote my company and products.
PAGES have more functions than the account. You get to see the traffic to your PAGES. You also can have multiple PAGES from your account. You can also assign other people to be the administrator of your PAGES.
If you have any question, please contact me or my company.

We drove little bit around downtown Seattle. It is a very small city compared to cities like L.A. and N.Y.

I went to Seattle to visit our Data Center at Fisher Plaza. Our data center is right next to the space needle, Seattle Center. We have people 24/7 ready to respond to nay kind of emergencies. Also the data center staffs are busy maintaining 400+ servers.
I am in the office watching the Internet traffic from Japan. It is the first day of work in japan for 2013 and we are expecting the Internet traffic surge.
Pompom is also in the office ... board and sleeping.
I found very interesting web site which compares two cities for the cost of living. According to it, living in Seattle is 33% cheaper than living in Tokyo. You can select multiple cities around the world and compare. What is more interesting is, living in Osaka japan is about the same as living in Seattle.
It was really sunny but cold this morning. The temperature meter on my car was showing 27F. This is the the coldest this winter. Here are some of the pictures I took this morning. Dogs do not seem to mind at all.
I just received the email (newsletter) saying the Zip Car is now a part of Avis/Budget Rent-a-Car group. It makes it bigger but less trendy, I just became a ip Car member last year.
