Founder & CEO, Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. (PSPINC)
Bellevue, Washington
Kenichi Uchikura is the founder and CEO of Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. (PSPINC), a technology company based in the Seattle area. After graduating from Azusa Pacific University in 1983, he began his professional career in Japan before being assigned to establish his employer’s Seattle subsidiary. That international business experience laid the foundation for his entrepreneurial journey.
In 1987, Uchikura founded PSPINC, building the company into a long-standing provider of software development, web hosting, business communications, and SaaS solutions serving clients in both the United States and Japan. Originally known for Japanese software localization and cross-cultural technology services, PSPINC evolved alongside the growth of the Internet into a provider of digital infrastructure, custom web applications, and business communication platforms.
For nearly four decades, Uchikura has focused on helping organizations leverage technology to improve communication, strengthen customer relationships, and expand business opportunities. His work reflects a commitment to innovation, practical problem-solving, and fostering business connections between Japan and the United States.
This is the office building I rent first few months after I started PSPINC in Mercer Island, Washington. I rented a small office on the 2nd floor. I paid 1 year rent in advance so that I will not run out of money.
When we left this building, we occupied about the 1/2 of the entire second floor.
PSPINC was listed at #3638 on the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies in the US for 2012. There were 127 companies in Washington state that made the list, and of those we were also #85 for the Seattle Metro Area.
When we think about smartphone OS, we think about Android and iOS. That covers almost all smartphones in the world. Ok, Ok, there are Windows and Blackberry too.But they are very small in numbers.
Now there will be a new OS for smartphones and is from Mozilla. Who is Mozilla?
Mozilla is an organization who produced Firefox browsers. The new OS for smartphones is called Firefox OS. Just remember you heard it here first.
Every Wednesday, I attend Seattle Executives Association with 100 other business owners. It is a very different organization design to benefit companies. If you own a business in the greater Seattle area and would like check out this association, please let me know.
Just remember there is one company per business category, so if your business category is already taken by the current member, you are not allowed to join.
I have gone through my wallet and found one credit card that I have never used. I called the bank and ask them to close VISA card. Now I have one less credit card to worry about.
It was a great race to watch today. Danica Patric was the first woman to take a pole position. She finished 8. I was a great finish.
NASCAR is a very interesting auto racing. I think those cars are still running carbonated engines, not fuel injected. That is to save costs but it is not cheap to run NASCAR. NASCAR stand for National Association of Stock Car Racing. There is not much stock about those cars. When was the last time you see V8 Ford Fusion, Chevy Impara or Toyota Camry?
Apple's stock price is falling more than 10% this year alone. The sales is not doing bad or any other big problem with the company. The only difference I see is there is no Steve Jobs. It is amazing to see the presence, no presence, of the leader makes such a difference in the stock price.

When cable TV started, it was just a place to watch reruns of network TV programs. However, cable TVs have changed its business model and started produce their own series. Now more than 50% TV viewers are spending time watching cable instead of network TV stations.
Now Netflix, DVD rental company, has started to produce its own series and get this, they are releasing all episodes at once. It is a new business model. I really admire companies adopting to new business models.
I have been using Windows 8 PC for about two months now. I am a Mac user and still use Mac at the office. I did not think I would like Windows 8 but after I install some of the programs and utilities, I started to like Windows 8.
But I still do not see why Windows 8 comes with this tiled interface. It is absolutely useless and annoying at the best. I heard there is way to hide this stupid interface, I really should think about that.
If you are looking for a low cost VPS server hosting service, may I suggest FazeWire?
FazeWire became a part of PSPINC last year and is growing rapidly. Just look at the price. I don't even know how we are still able offer this price.
Here are some updates I got from Jimmy's ... The colors have been chosen, dashboard assemblies were taken out. A lot of work to come, but it will be one beautiful car when completed. Watch the update on https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jimmys-Auto-Upholstery/135079519842573 (10 photos)
This is not good.
There is no room for improvement.
When we build software, we are often face with difficulties. What we do when we face difficulties make us different from the other companies. We will not compromise until we are sure there is absolutely nothing we anyone can do.
Impossible is nothing. Never Compromise!
Compromise comes from the Latin compromissum, which means "mutual promise." It can be a noun or a verb. If you compromise with your lab partner over how to analyze the experimental data, you find the middle ground between your two ideas. Compromise can also mean to erode or diminish. If you never repair your brakes, you will compromise the safety of the car. If you cheat, you compromise your integrity.
This is an advertisement in Japan for a famous American Restaurant Chain ... Can you guess which restaurant? I am sire actual burger does not look anything close to this. This burger looks really good, doesn't it?
We have demonstrated "Contact Manage", one of our newest services to our staff at PSPINC HQ. This service enables people share and publish the address book and calendar over multiple devices such as PCs, Tablets and Smart Phones.
This is a image I took at Harajyuku Takeshita Street on Feb 4 (Monday). On weekends and holidays, street will be full of people like the second picture.
I took my 1959 Mercedes Benz 220S to Jimmy's Auto Upholstery for interior upgrade. The project started over 2 years ago and went through the mechanical maintenance and fixes, the exterior painting and now the interior. I will be one heck of a car when it's done. Looking forward to show the car this summer.
What do you tell to the people who spend more than what they make?
How about the company?
How about the country?
The US spend $20,000 per person than what it takes in. What more amazing is that Japan spends $40,000 per person more than what it takes in. Is it sustainable? You should not bet on it.
Trying to order any drink in Japan that is Decaf is very difficult in Japan. Even Starbucks Coffee does not pre-brew Decaf coffee. They asked me if I want wait 8 minuets.
Japanese Tea (Chinese Tea) has more caffeine than coffee and they are free in Japan. Some people never heard of Decaf either. So if you are traveling to Japan and you prefer Decaf, bring your own instant coffee.
I just received this email today. It says it is from Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi. It is not, the bank name is Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ. Do not respond to this type of message.

I am at Narita Airport waiting for my flight back to Seattle. They were expecting big snow today but it did not come. It is cloudy and little windy. I will be in seattle in about 10 hours.
Have you seen a movie called Hachiko staring Richard Gere? Well, here is the real statue of Hachiko near Shibuya station. It is a very popular meeting spot.
There are two twoeres in Tokyo capable of broadcasting HDTV. The new tower os 634m tall and will start boradcastin in May. But they are now testing the broadcast capability now. When they dom they are asking viewers if the have problem receiving the sugnal.
To make any thing perfect, there must be lots of trial and error. There is something we should learn from that.
I went to JoJoEn in Shinjyuku for dinner tonight. I lloked at the menu and it was really expensive. Each plate you see here is over US$20. But they are soooooooooooooo good.
