I was at office until almost 10pm ... This is the security camera footage of I and my buddy Pompom entering to garage to get on the car to go home. I work 7 days a week and I am usually here until after 9pm.

I do not recommend this unless you own a company and want to make it little better every year.

As default Macintosh screen capture (Command + Shift + 3) captures screen in PNG file format. But for me JPEG is more useful. I found the way to change the file format.

20% off most everything ... not that cheap but if you buy and brand name merchandise, 20% is good.

I went to Sports Authority's Going Out of Business Sale today. Almost everything is on sale for 20% off the price tag. I am sure they are going down more but for now they still have everything in their store. I bought couple of things.

It is another bricks and mortar (B&M) store going down the drain. It just cost too much to maintain large store and staff to run it. People even go to the B&M to test the equipment and if they like it buy it online. At this point, unless you have very strong Internet presence and use the B&M to deliver or accept return, you cannot compete with Amazon and eBay and other online stores.

This trend will continue. The B&M store is a show case for the products for people t test out before they buy it online.

My take on Microsoft buying Linked in

$26.2 billion sounds a lot but it is a lot better buy than $8.5 billion they spent on NOKIA provided Microsoft can so something with 433 million Linked in users. When you think about it, Microsoft spend $60.51 per user. Linked in has revenue of $2.99 billion last year ... so that means, each user produced about $6.91 per year for Linked in. So that means Microsoft paid about 8.76 fold of the Linked in revenue. It's still not as bad as when we had .com boom.

We used to print everything and filed them. Now all documents are email and stored in the computer and the server. We do have copier but we don't use it much anymore. How about fax machine?

Do you know faxed documents are legal document but email is not. Did you know that. So when you write a letter to congress, VP or President, you need to fax it the mail it.

The car is communicating with somewhere to get an update.
This is not just receiving data, it is also sending dada too.
It is not sending who you are ... I hope not.

IoT ... We now hear more and more about IoT (Internet of Things) and the most obvious one of IoTs is the car. Many newer cars are communicating with some servers to send and receive data. This data may include

- Location
- Speed
- Wiper on/off
- Lights on/off
- Traction Control on/off
- Outside temperature
- Proximity data

How ever it is not sending who you are for privacy reason. But it can.

I parked on the curve downtown Seattle. I did not know it cost $8 for $2 hours. That is expensive. I guess the city does not want you to drive your car downtown.

I has a chance to go downtown Seattle this afternoon and went up on the 48th floor. I took a picture toward Bellevue. The buildings you see in the distance is the downtown Bellevue, the second largest city in the State.

The building you see in the center is University of Washington, Harborview Medical Center. This is the only one "Level 1 Trauma Center" within five states. We are lucky to have hospital like this.

You know those logos and what they do.
No explanation necessary ... That is branding!

I have been hearing many marketing people say "Branding" especially in fast few years. I have read a few articles on branding and I could not come up with the simple explanation what it is and how it can be done. Then I searched for and listen to people.

What I came up is this...

If you advertise enough with your logo and product name, people remember your product. That makes it easy for customer to buy products and service that has your brand.

So, it is another marketing technique ... When you advertise, try to use same logo, name and color so that people will remember. You website should be consistent with your corporate brand as well.

For the price of 100 Yen (about $0.95), you cannot beat the cup of coffee you can get at a convenience store in Japan. The machine grinds the coffee beans and drip for a each cup. It takes less than a minute. One thing you cannot find in Japan is a decaffeinated coffee. There is no such thing in Japan.

The machine dripped coffee started at 7 Eleven in Japan but now is available at almost all convenience stores like Lawson and Family Mart.

PS: Some hotels serve you decaffeinated coffee but the are usually instant coffee ... who wants to pay hotel coffee price for an instant.

Email Not Working. We Take it Seriously.

The customer calls and letting us know the email is not working, we take this very seriously. We want to make sure you can send and receive email anytime of the day.

However, to diagnose the problem, we may have to ask you some fundamental questions like "is your computer connected to Internet?" I know it is a very basic question and you want us to fix the problem right away but we do not know what you know. Apple Pencil Stop Working ...

Hold the pencil tip and screw it off.

I cleaned it with my finger.

put it back on ... It's working now.

My Apple Pencil stopped working so I search the next to fix it.
Just take the tip off (twist counter clock wise) and put it back on (clock wise).
That fixed it.
