According to an article on CNN online, there were 4.2 million iOS (iPhone or iPad) users who activated their new device on Christmas this year compared to 2.6 million activations on Android (Google).

It is an interesting war on smart phones / tablet devices.

Submarine Cables

Did you know what submarine cables?
They are the cables connecting continents under the sea for our voice and data needs. One of my staff asked me about trans Pacific cabling so I looked up online about the submarine cables.

Did you know the very first submarine cable in commission was put in 1850 to connect England and France? Isn't that amazing!?

Today the technology changed from copper to fiber cables but we still rely on those cables heavily.

One of my staff found the map of world's submarine cables. It is interesting to see how we are physically connected.

All Nippon Airways is coming to Seattle

The first delivered 787 went to Japan, received by ANA, one of the largest Japanese Airline companies along with JAL. They made an announcement that they will start to serve Tokyo - Seattle route with Boeing 787 starting sometime in 2012!

I did meet the president of ANA in November, and I did ask him for this to happen. I don't think I made any difference because many people and the Port of Seattle was already requesting to ANA many time, this announcement made me feel somewhat happy because it was only a month ago for me to have a chance to meet the President and ask for this to happen!
