During winter in Japan last year, I had some extra time to visit Okinawa. I flew out of Miyazaki Airport on Friday and returned the following Sunday. Although the trip was very short, on Saturday I rented a kei car and drove all around the main island.
My favorite places to visit were the Okinawa Aquarium, Shuri Castle and Seifa-Utaki.

This is the best my camera could do as far as taking a photo of Mt. Fuji from the beach. It much prettier in real life.
Another place that I went to on my Japan trip was Kamakura. It took about an hour from Yuurakuchou station to Kamakura station. The two main things I planned out for this day trip was to see the Sasuke Inari shrine and visit the beach.

After visiting the Inari shrine I bought a bus pass and visited a few temples before heading to the beach. I wasn't expecting to see Mt. Fuji, but I was surprised how bright blue and picturesque it looks like in real life. Unfortunately I only had a camera phone so I couldn't take a good picture of it.

This is the Tobu Nikko Station. It is small and cute.
Earlier this year I went to Nikko. It was fun, but very cold. Two years ago I went to Toushouguu shrine, but this time I wanted to go up into the mountains.

They have very tasty soba at the omiyage shop around the marshlands. The buses didn't come very often, so if I go back I will probably rent a car. And also maybe bring a winter coat. ❄
