New skin engine released

We are proud to release a new skin for bloguru called "deRed". This skin is built on an entirely new engine that is designed to be search engine friendly. While this is still in beta testing, we encourage bloguru users to try the skin and let us know what you think. As always, if you find any issues with it, please let us know. It is still in testing and we are actively working to resolve any issues.

Access count issue resolved

Social Map Rollback

Today we deployed the Bloguru Social Map which allows users to add their locations to a global map.

Upon deployment, several issues were identified by our testers. We decided to rollback the feature until these issues have been resolved.

Please look for this feature to be re-released in the near future.

Inactive users removed

Today we have removed 10 accounts from inactive users on bloguru. Just as a reminder, you need to make at least one (1) post per year to stay with bloguru.

RSS update

Bloguru was updated this afternoon with a solution to a user reported issue regarding how RSS feeds were being displayed in Firefox. If you are experiencing display issues with your RSS feed in Firefox, rebuild your feed and try again. To rebuild your RSS feed, simply make a new post, edit an existing post, or delete a post.

Steps toward search engine optimization

Bloguru has taken its first steps toward search engine optimization. This morning bloguru was updated to auto generate a site map daily with links to each users blog. Search engines use these site maps to better crawl bloguru and index your blog.

Additionally, all redirects that were previously a code 302 (temporarily redirect) have been moved to 301 (moved permanently). This will also help when search engines attempt to index bloguru.

New Twitter Feature Added (Beta)

We are proud to announce the addition of a new beta feature which adds the ability to simultaneously tweet on Twitter when making a new bloguru post. This takes the title of your post and tweets it along with a link back to your original post. To get started visit 'Basic settings' in your control panel and click 'Sign in with Twitter'.
