Sewing Machine and Vacuum Cleaners

I always wondered why in the US, vacuum cleaners and sewing machines are sold at same place. I I did little digging and found,

(1) Both sewing machines and vacuum cleaners use small motor. That means one shop can service both.
(2) Singer (http://www.singer.com) made both vacuum cleaners and sewing machines.

Those are the two reason why they are all sold at the same store.
