There are many reasons you want to start your own business. No matter what the reason is, I encourage people to start a business of your own. I started mine 33 years ago and I do not regret my decision 33 years later.

I am often asked what it’s like to start and own your own business. My answer is always the same. It is the best decision I have ever made and I would do it again, but it is not easy. For every success there must be a dozen failures. With every encouragement there are always more disappointments.

However, one thing that has kept me going is the people. The people I work with, customers, vendors and friends. Without them, your success means nothing. Sharing stories with people you know and listening to their stories make everything worthwhile.

For those of you who are starting a new venture, I salute your courage and hope for your success. Good luck and at any point if you need someone to tell you that you are doing a good job, ask me. That is the least I can do.
