Last Day

thread
Last Day
Today is the last day of my Costco American Express card. I had Amex since August 1986. It's kind of sad to see it to have Amex anymore.

How do you make your product stand out?

thread
How do you make your produc...
Why should customer choose you over your competitors? Have you ever spend time to think about that? Here are some of the things you may be thinking about...

(1) Product
You may have better product than the other people.

(2) Service
You may have better service, after care, return policy, warranty than your competitors.

(3) Price
Your price is better then the others.

If you say "No" to all that, please tell me how you are able to stay in business. This is often called "Value Proposition". What is yours?

Sports Authority Going Out of Business!!

thread
There weren't many people. 2... There weren't many people.
20% off most everything ... not that cheap but if you buy and brand name merchandise, 20% is good.
As you come in the door. It is... As you come in the door.
It is not empty yet.
I just needed to take this pictur... I just needed to take this picture. ; )
Can I buy this mannekin?
I might buy this. I might buy this.
I went to Sports Authority's Going Out of Business Sale today. Almost everything is on sale for 20% off the price tag. I am sure they are going down more but for now they still have everything in their store. I bought couple of things.

It is another bricks and mortar (B&M) store going down the drain. It just cost too much to maintain large store and staff to run it. People even go to the B&M to test the equipment and if they like it buy it online. At this point, unless you have very strong Internet presence and use the B&M to deliver or accept return, you cannot compete with Amazon and eBay and other online stores.

This trend will continue. The B&M store is a show case for the products for people t test out before they buy it online.

My take on Microsoft buying Linked in

thread
My take on Microsoft buying L...
$26.2 billion sounds a lot but it is a lot better buy than $8.5 billion they spent on NOKIA provided Microsoft can so something with 433 million Linked in users. When you think about it, Microsoft spend $60.51 per user. Linked in has revenue of $2.99 billion last year ... so that means, each user produced about $6.91 per year for Linked in. So that means Microsoft paid about 8.76 fold of the Linked in revenue. It's still not as bad as when we had .com boom.

Do you print much?

thread
We ha no use for stamp like th... We ha no use for stamp like this ... It says "Confirmed" in Japanese.
We do not print much anymore, do we?

We used to print everything and filed them. Now all documents are email and stored in the computer and the server. We do have copier but we don't use it much anymore. How about fax machine?

Do you know faxed documents are legal document but email is not. Did you know that. So when you write a letter to congress, VP or President, you need to fax it the mail it.
