Teragoya`s kids` halloween party is this Sunday afternoon - are you coming? How about the adults` party on Saturday the 23rd?
I`m looking forward to seeing everyone`s costumes. I`ve almost finished mine. As usual, it`s:

- a secret!

On Saturday night we were lucky to host a live performance by the group `Wing` at our Teragoya school. They played a variety of music types, from classical to pop to Hawaiian to Irish folk. It was very entertaining!

By the way, after their performance, they kindly signed a CD for me. Thanks, guys! Whenever I look at it, I will remember you (but not while I`m playing it - that will make me dizzy).
On Wednesday we had a Christmas lunch party for mums & small kids.
Does Santa look familiar...? Owen seemed to think so. After the party I tried to find out:
Me: Owen, did you see Santa?
O: Anta! (= "Santa")
Me: Yes - lucky you!
O: Anta!
Me: Yes - you saw...
O: Daddy!
Me: Er...
I had a good time at the party on Saturday night.
However, I didn`t do very well in the wine tasting challenge. Each team was given 4 wine samples & told to decide which country each was from. Unfortunately an Australian wine - which I usually drink - wasn`t included, & though I sometimes drink Italian wine (e.g. when I go to a great Italian restaurant next to Iwato Station called Manma Cina), the Italian one we were given in the contest was a dessert wine, which I never drink - yuck! Also, I thought American wine was terrible, but I didn`t realise that Argentinian wine is even worse... urgh!
Anyway, in the end my team got zero points. But I wasn`t too shocked; after one of my team members drank his first sample, he asked "Is this wine?" Uh oh...!
Anyway, congratulations to the winners: Parren & his team.
And congratulations to Argentina for making a wine that is worse than $4 American wine!

Thanks everyone who came to our halloween parties on Sunday. I hope you had fun. I really enjoyed myself, even though I was busy helping kids do my big puzzle, and also controlling my pet cormorant, who wanted to bite everybody (I could open & close his mouth using a string in my hand. Hehe.)
My costume was an `ushou`, a Japanese cormorant trainer/handler/master. Cormorant fishing is a 1300-year-old tradition in Gifu, and nowadays is a famous tourist attraction. Have you ever been to seen cormorant fishing in Gifu?
It`s time for Bohme Teragoya`s big, fun, exciting, funny HALLOWEEN PARTY! We have this party every year, & everyone always has a great time. Don`t miss it! Or you will regret it!
Thanks everybody who came to the party on Saturday. It was a good chance to chat with students I don`t often see nowadays. I had a good time, and if you went I hope you did too.
