How To Market Your Business with QR Codes

thread
How To Market Your Busines...

Within the last few years, QR (quick response) codes have become more popular, serving as a contactless, and therefore, sanitary, way of providing customers with information in person. A QR code is a graphical representation of digital data like a barcode. However, the difference between the two is that people can use a smartphone to scan QR codes because most have a QR reader built in.

Engineer Masahiro Hara first invented QR codes in 1994 to track vehicles and assembly line parts, but they didn’t become popular until the invention of smartphones. But even then, users still had to download an app to scan the QR code, crippling its adoption. Then, there was another surge in 2017 when Apple integrated a QR reader into their phones, and other smartphone companies followed suit. But that also died out shortly afterward. Then, the popularity of QR codes returned in 2020 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Marketing with QR Codes

O
ne of the most popular use cases involves companies marketing their business with QR codes. For businesses with physical locations, QR codes bridge the gap between digital and non-digital marketing efforts. Not to mention, they’re generally free or inexpensive and easy to use. With QR codes, marketing to customers in person becomes much easier to track and measure. Some marketing examples of QR codes in use include:

someone scanning a qr code menu

  • QR code menus. They lead users to digital menus online, providing a touchless option for health-conscious restaurant-goers.

business card front and back with a qr code on the front

  • Business cards with QR codes. They quickly guide users to someone’s website, online portfolio, or social media pages.

someone scanning a qr code from an in-store sign that a retail worker is holding up for them

  • Retail store signage encourages shoppers on the go to check out your loyalty programs, review storefronts and overall customer experiences, or view online catalogs when pieces go out of stock or are no longer available in store.

a man scanning a qr code in a magazine

  • Museum, library, and/or park brochures. They provide visitors with additional information on displays and exhibits.

a woman scanning a qr code on a package while sitting in the front seat of a car

  • Audio QR codes. They help brands personalize their messaging on product packaging or greeting cards.

The adoption and popularity of QR codes have wavered in the past but grew exponentially within the last three years because of the Covid-19 pandemic. And the trend only continues today. The reasoning behind why is simple: they're fast, easy, sanitary, and inexpensive. And it's exactly why businesses like ours continue working in QR code software development.

Dreamersi: Sender Verification Feature Available

thread
Dreamersi: Sender Verificatio...

Background of Development

Are you ever frustrated with the large amounts of spam every day? When cybercriminals send spam or viruses via email, they never send them from their actual email addresses. These days, spam emails come in all sorts of different ways. So, we developed a feature to identify emails coming from bots and malicious spammers from those that are not. We thought this could save you from dealing with large amounts of spam emails.

Purpose and Features

a man and woman looking over some papers while sitting in front of a laptop

To receive emails from specific addresses, this feature will be incredibly useful as it’ll ensure you don’t miss important emails, like an order confirmation email. You can register known email addresses in advance with people you know you’ll communicate with as well as your customers’ domain names in the Verified Sender list.
When enabled, this feature will send out an email to those not already on the Verified Sender list, asking them to authenticate the sending address. Then, rather than getting stored in the recipient’s inbox, it’ll get sorted into a separate folder. After that, authenticated emails from verified addresses and domains will get delivered to your inbox.
Additionally, the “Allow Senders to Opt-In” feature will add the sender’s email address to the Verified Sender list as soon as verification completes. Then, it’ll move all emails from that sender, including those already received, to the inbox.

If you have any questions, please contact us at 1-800-232-3989 or email us at support@pspinc.com .

We would like to answer your questions by phone call.

The Difference Between B2B and B2C Marketing

thread
The Difference Between B2B an...
When marketing a business successfully, a lot of research, strategy, and execution goes into it. But what works for one company won’t necessarily work for another. Even if both companies are relatively the same size and sell similar products. This is because their audiences and end goals can be completely different. One company could be selling computer software to everyday customers to use at home, while another could be selling something similar for other small businesses to use on a wide scale. Think of it this way: a customer buying a computer to use at home is very different from a customer buying computers for their entire office to use.

Therefore, a company’s marketing strategy towards one customer buying a computer is going to be completely different from one trying to sell to a business. And that’s why B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer) marketing exist. B2B marketing refers to marketing to professional buyers, who are looking to purchase products or services that will benefit the company they work for. B2C marketing, however, refers to marketing toward individual customers.

B2C Marketing Strategies

A Woman in White Long Sleeves Tapping Her Phone on a Payment Terminal at the Counter

When marketing to individual customers, messaging is the most important aspect of your advertising efforts. With the right message, you can create loyal customers, confirm your credibility, and emotionally connect with your customers. And it will help in achieving the ultimate goal: motivating them to purchase from you. An effective way of delivering the right message is to evoke emotion in your ad copy.

The relationship between the brand and customer in B2B marketing is transactional in the sense that it’s quick and easy when done right. And the audience is much larger and broader compared to B2B businesses. So, it only makes it that much more important that your ad copy is effective. Because of how short the experience is between the customer and company, making sure it’s memorable will better ensure they’ll not only remember you but come back to purchase from you again.

B2B Marketing Strategies

Man in a Suit Talking with a Couple in an Office

Unlike B2C marketing, B2B focuses more on establishing a long-term relationship with customers. And your audience is much smaller compared to B2C. While there is some overlap between B2C and B2B marketing, B2B ad copy will usually consist more of establishing your positioning in the market and showcasing your expertise.

The best way to do that is by constantly creating educational content and keeping a line of communication open. B2B customers take much longer to make purchasing decisions compared to B2C. It’s because it’s not just a personal purchase, it’s one that they’re hoping will benefit their business, employees, and colleagues. So, it’s important to B2B customers that the products or services come from a reputable company. If the company provides plenty of content that shows off their expert knowledge, it makes B2B customers much more likely to purchase from them.

What’s New Newsletter Vol. 141 “Product Development”

thread
What’s New News...
When developing products for your business, it’s important to remember your audience. Regardless of what industry you’re in, customers regard you as experts. And you wouldn’t be running a small business if you didn’t have at least some kind of expertise. The product or service you create shouldn’t just serve you, but also your industry and your audience. Customers are smart, but don’t assume they know the same things you do. Because they don’t. So, don’t design your product in a way that requires them to know more than they do.

To make sure this doesn’t happen, it’s always a good idea to test your new product with someone who isn’t well-versed in your industry. As a tech company, we get our sales and marketing team to try out our new products. And it’s not only because they’re the ones who are trying to sell it. It’s also to see if there are areas where we could improve because if they don’t know how to use it, how can we expect our customers to know?

What’s New Newsletter Vol. 140 “Transparency in Business”

thread
What’s New News...
For small businesses, transparency towards your customers is important. Especially if it affects a potential customer’s overall experience with the brand. For example, if one of your products is low in stock or your office reduces hours because of a holiday, it’s important to let customers know. Especially since this information could affect their overall experience with the brand. In line with that logic, being transparent with your customers also includes sharing positive news, like new product additions or sale promotions.

Being honest with your customers will help you maintain relationships between your business and your customers. And for small businesses, those relationships are crucial in establishing a great reputation for your business as well as creating loyal customers. With a solid base of loyal customers and an exceptional reputation, your business could create brand evangelists, where customers will market for you by telling people how great your company is. And if you continue to nurture those relationships, you’ll always have a constant flow of business.

What’s New Newsletter Vol. 136 “Taking Risks as a Small Business”

thread
What’s New News...
Business success rarely ever happens overnight. But a lot of successful endeavors include some form of risk. And larger businesses can likely recover easily if it doesn’t pan out. However, it isn’t as easy for small businesses. But a business will never grow if they play it safe forever. The key is taking small but calculated risks. And doing it often.

A big risk, while it can lead to a big reward, can also be detrimental if it doesn’t work out. Instead, take smaller risks frequently when it comes to your small business. That way, it’ll give you a better idea of what works and what doesn’t. In the workplace, encouraging creativity is a great first step. But it’ll only make a difference if you execute some of your employees’ ideas.

PSPINC What’s New Newsletter Vol. 134 “Listening to Others”

thread
PSPINC What’s N...
Communication is one of the most important aspects of running a business. But communication goes both ways. You can’t just speak; you have to listen too. Here at PSPINC, we encourage everyone to speak up, even if it’s about something small. But most problems generally start small, so it’s our chance to tackle them before they get too big. But listening is about more than just trying to prevent disasters, it also inspires trust and loyalty in your employees.

With more trust comes new ideas. An open line of communication among workers makes them feel more valued at the company. Therefore, they’re more likely to share their ideas, through a casual conversation or a formal pitch. If the person at the top encourages these behaviors, it’ll establish a culture of interactive listening. As a result, people will work better together, and they’ll also be happier working for you overall.

PSPINC What’s New Newsletter Vol. 133 “Serving Your Customers”

thread
PSPINC What’s N...
As a business that sells to other businesses, it’s hard to sell and retain those customers sometimes. But what we’ve found very helpful is taking the focus of our company. Instead, we put the focus on our customers. It’s not about trying to get what we need from them; it’s about giving them what they need. When asking them how we can help them, it shows how much we care about them rather than just trying to push our products on them. While we do still want to make money, customers don’t like feeling like that’s the end goal.

If what you’re selling fits with what they want and need for their business, that’s great. But if it doesn’t, the relationship with them doesn’t have to end there. The customer’s best interests should still be at the forefront of how your sales team deals with customers, even if it means they won’t buy from you right now. In turn, they won’t only remember your business, but they also might recommend you to other people just based on their friendly interaction with you. This overall effort will, at the very least, give customers a great perspective on your business. They’ll see your business as one that genuinely cares about the well-being of their customers, even if it doesn’t result in a purchase.

What’s New Newsletter Vol. 131 “Inexperience Does Not Equal Incompetence”

thread
What’s New News...
There’s nothing you can’t learn. So, you shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help when you don’t understand something. Yet, it happens all the time in business. Not knowing something doesn’t mean you’re incompetent. But many make that assumption when it just isn’t true. All it means is that you’re inexperienced in this area. Just because you don’t currently know how to do something, it doesn’t mean it has to stay that way.

You can figure it out on the way. And there will always be someone else who can teach you. Even if it’s from an online article or YouTube tutorial. So-called experts are just people with more experience than you. And even then, just because they’re experts, it doesn’t make them infallible. They can make mistakes too, and they don’t always have the answers. So, don’t be afraid of not knowing something. And remember to always keep learning.
