We finished the installation of the new storage system at our main data center. We are now in process of making all the backups first before we remove the broken units to be reformatted for the new replication for the Bellevue data center. This will ensure that we do have the latest backup first before we remove all the data from our old storage system.

We believe that we will need all night to run the back up.

9:15 pm Update: Technical Difficulties

We are now ready to switch our main storage to a new set starting 9:20pm PST. We will switch one server at a time so some of you may experience some outages of a service for 10 - 15 minutes.

The entire process will be done within 2 hours.

This will enable us to remove the units that have caused all the problems.

11:30 pm Update: Technical Difficulties

We just finished updating our firmware on our secondary storage in Bellevue. We are now verifying the integrity of our data.

Once it is confirmed, we will switch our service to our back up data center probably within 30 minutes. While we do, here are some of the difficulties you will experience between 12am - 2am PST on Jan. 7. During that time, we will upgrade our firmware as Dell directed us on our preliminary storage unit. This will enable us to re-start the replication of our storage units between the two data centers.

Web services: You may experience a very short outage while we switch our services. You will not be able to use the FTP service during this time.

POP3 service: You may experience a very short outage while we switch our services.

IMAP: You will not be able to access your Email during that time. We are planning to make IMAP service to go down for 30 minutes during that hours. There will be no Emails lost since all the Email received during that time will be stored in our other serves.

We will keep you informed once we start our process.

All Servers & Systems are Operational!

At this time, all PSP services have been restored and are fully operational.

Specifically, our IMAP and MYSQL servers are back up and running and you should no longer be experiencing any technical difficulites. If you're having any issues accessing your websites, email, etc., please contact PSP's Support Team so that we may promptly address it.

We will continue to investigate the cause of this morning's server outages and we'll be sure to share our findings with you.

12:00 pm Update: Technical Difficulties

The IMAP servers have been brought back online. Those of you affected by the email outage should now be able to send and receive mail.

Please note that due to this morning's outage, the email queue will likely be delayed over the next couple of hours while the large volume of email is processed and sent through the servers.

We are continuing to work on other server related issues and outages and we will post more information as it becomes available.

10:30 am Update: Technical Difficulties

As of 10:30 am this morning, PSP is still experiencing technical difficulties with some of our services.

The issue has been identified as a problem with the Dell hardware server. Dell has dispatched technicians who are currently on site with PSP. The Dell technicians have completed running diagnostics and are now analyzing the results.

At this time IMAP email is still unavailable and our web service is currently read only, so while web sites can be viewed they cannot be currently changed. As of 9:45 am, Dell expected to have PSP’s IMAP and MYSQL services back online within an hour.

PSP is still operating under this timeline and will continue to work with Dell to return these services to their normal operation and will let you know as soon as they are.
