Coming Together to Support Japan

thread
People across the world are supporting Japan with their thoughts and prayers during their crisis and recovery. Please watch this touching video and share it with your friends. Many of the signs are in English.

Of the many Japanese quotes in this video, this is a sample of the quotes and stories: Grateful for a Box: when I was stuck waiting on a train platform, completely exhausted, a homeless man gave me a cardboard box because it was so cold. We always walk past them, ignoring them. Now Im warm.

thread
Internet Marketing and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) have become an important component of almost every website out there. As search engines grow larger and more complex, so does SEO/Internet marketing strategies. When it comes down to it, every website has to decide between two types of search engine marketing: pay-per-click or organic search marketing campaigns. Knowing the differences and advantages vs. disadvantages of both PPC and organic SEO can truly help increase your website traffic and visibility.

What is Organic SEO?

Organic search are the listings that appear on your Google, Bing or Yahoo search engines because of their relevance to the search terms, key words or key phrases that coincide with the unique content of your website. The most common target of organic SEO marketing is to make your webpage one of the top 10 results of organic searches, creating high visibility which, in turn, increases the probability that your website will be visited. One of the best ways to increase your websites organic SEO is by creating unique content, links and frequent updates to your website.

Advantages of Organic SEO:

You will not pay or be charged for visitors coming to your site
It has been shown through research that more online browsers tend to click on organic results vs. pay per click adds
Your SEO rankings well be more long term
Google is consider to be the authority of all, therefore if your site is ranked in the top ten your business is one of the best
Builds more trust versus sponsored sites
Average visitors stay on your website longer
Disadvantages of Organic SEO

Time consuming to see real results
Creating blogs, social networking links with constant updates
What is Pay-per-Click?

PCC is an internet advertising model used on Google, Bing or Yahoo where the advertiser (you) will only be charged when your advertisement is clicked, sending visitors to your web page. These PCC advertisements will show up on the right hand side of search engine pages. Websites that utilize PPC ads will choose and display unique ads when keyword or organic searches match your ad's keyword lists or when the content site displays content relevant to your advertisement. The more clicks you receive, the more money you pay out.

Advantages for Pay-per-Click

Better visibility in search engines
Only pay for the number of clicks through to your site
Ability to test key words and phrases for better SEO content
Ability to target specific keywords to potential clients
Easily monitor and adjust your PPC campaign content and key words
Can turn potential clients into paying clients
Disadvantages of Pay-per-Click

Each time a an ad is clicked, it will cost you money
Has the Potential to be expensive
Potential to waste money if your ad does not get the attention of visitors
Competing for key words with competition can be expensive
Concern of click fraud
Time consuming and can be hard to manage on your own
Before deciding what type of SEO marketing best suits your online business, consider long term and instant traffic goals that you would like to obtain and weigh them agents the advantages and disadvantages for both Organic SEO and PPC. You might realize that a mixture is just what you need, although to the most important aspect of your online marketing strategies has to start at the basics your website. Remember that both Organic SEO and PPC are just tools to help create awareness for your business but don't guarantee new business or higher immediate sales.
