Blender Tutorial

My donut My donut Levels of progression. Onto th... Levels of progression. Onto the next for me!
As a Designer, I am always looking for ways to improve or complement my current skills. Thanks to more powerful devices and browser technology, animation and 3D are ongoing trends. Even before I chose to study Graphic Design, I spent a lot of time in photo and vector software. I can make pretty good icons and flat vector drawings. So, where do I go from here?

I could...

  • Learn to animate my vector drawings
  • Learn JavaScript to create animations and interactive effects
  • Learn 3D to create images and scenes that I cannot draw

Drawing is not one of my skills. I can combine shapes to create icons and illustrations, but I cannot draw with accuracy. That is where 3D comes in. It took about 3 hours, but the donut render is far superior to any drawing I may create. Learning how to animate with JavaScript on the web would be just as useful for 3D art. Some websites that utilize 3D in either video or online are as follows:

My interest lies at the intersection of art + code. Engaging websites often include animation or extremely engaging graphics. So, that's what I'm working on and will hopefully achieve for PSP customers. Wouldn't it be fun if www.japanese-online.com had a bunch of 3D food and locations? I bet the site would look really fun with graphics like these: https://dribbble.com/tags/low-poly
