■ The lower entry price has drummed up more visitors for the museum.
※drum upは、ビジネスだけでなく、政治にも使われます。
■ Late Thursday, a Florida tea party group and the conservative activist organization Americans for Prosperity reached out to supporters to drum up support for Scott’s decision.
あんまり必死(too hard)だと、逆に引く、っていうこともありますけどね。。

(to decrease in level or amount, especially after being high for a long time)
Examples:
1) The number of tourists drops off dramatically in the winter.
2) Demand for the product has dropped off sharply.
名詞として、drop-offとすることもできます。
Example) The industry has seen a sharp drop-off in business.
また、to fall offも同じ意味で使うことができます。
Example) Demand for the product has fallen off.
こちらもdrop-off同様、fall-offとして名詞になります。
仲間で覚えると、覚えやすいですね♪

間違えやすい英語:一番好きな音楽はなに?
favoriteを聞かれているので、一番好きなジャンルを答えましょう♪
"It's jazz!" "My favorite is hip-hop!" "Classic." "I love pop music!"などなど、答え方はいろいろあれど、この中で1つ、日本人が間違えて使いやすい英語が入っています。
それはクラシック音楽を意味したいclassic. classicの英語の意味は「古典の」。
クラシック音楽と言いたければ"classical"と言いましょう♪ classical musicでもclassicalでもどちらでもOKですよ♪

間違えやすい英語にご注意!そんな要注意表現をご紹介します★
英語だと"Come on!" や "Go, get 'em!" が応援でよく使う表現です。
あと失敗しちゃった人に言う「ドンマイ!」。これは英語"Don't mind(気にしないで)"から来てる日本語ですが、これも英語では言わないフレーズ。
英語では"That's OK."とか"Take it easy."とか"Don't worry about it."などを使います。
ヾ(。´∀`。)ノ[ ゚+。:.゚ドンマイ゚.:。+゚ ] 顔文字ってすごいですねー!
