盆踊り大会

Our Bellevue campus summer camp students worked very hard and had such a successful two day summer festival. They set up a number of booths, with the shaved ice station being very popular on the first day of the festival since it was particularly hot. On Friday, it was very exciting for the entire school to join in on the bon dance. In the middle of the play ground the summer school kids set up a wooden stage. A group of students played Taiko drum on the center stage, leading everyone from on top of the stage in the bon dance. The drums made us all feel, even if it was just for a moment like we were in Japan. It was a very wonderful Japanese summer festival.
