Bellevue Children’s Academyの算数教科書BCA Mathは、BCA創設者の清水楡華先生はじめBCAの先生方が、世界トップレベルの日本式算数やシンガポール算数を取り入れて、平日BCAのPreKから5th Gradeのために作成されたオリジナル教科書です。アメリカや日本の一般的な算数教科書よりも、アドバンスな算数を深く楽しく学ぶことができるように構成されていて、日本のデザイナーによるかわいいイラストも魅力です。土曜学校では、PreKとKのBCA Mathの日本語版が作成され、2018年度に初めて年中と年長の算数教材として採用されました。普段の授業や宿題では、教科書の中から重要なページが使われていますが、今年度から各チャプターを終えるごとに、そのチャプターの全ページを冊子にしてお渡しすることができるようになりました。年中、年長のご家庭では、ぜひご家庭での復習にご利用いただきたいと思います。今後、小学部の算数教科書としても、日本語版を作成し、取り入れていくことも検討中です。オリジナルの英語版にもご興味のある方は、ぜひフロントオフィスにお立ち寄りになり、サンプルをご覧になってください。PreKから5th Gradeまでで在庫のあるものは、購入していただくこともできます。
Bellevue Children's Academy's math textbook, BCA Math, is an original textbook created by BCA’s founder Ms. Yuka Shimizu and BCA teachers for BCA's PreK through 5th Grade students on weekdays, incorporating world-class Japanese and Singapore math. It is structured to allow students to learn advanced math more deeply and enjoyably than most American or Japanese math textbooks, and the cute illustrations by Japanese designers are also attractive. The Japanese version of PreK and K's BCA Math was created for Saturday School and was used for the first time in 2018-2019 school year as a math resource for our Pre-K and K students. Although important pages from the textbook are used in our regular classes and homework assignments, starting this year, we are able to provide the students with a booklet of all the pages of the chapter after each chapter is completed.
We encourage families of Pre-K and K students to use the booklet for review at home. In the future, we are also considering creating and incorporating a Japanese version as an elementary grades math textbook.
