州の愛称
今週，ノースカロライナ州からのお客様が，お土産に　Tar Heel Cookie　を持ってきてくれました。かかとにタールがついている絵柄です。昔はよくタールが取れた場所なのだとか。


アメリカの州にはそれぞれ愛称があるんですね。
カリフォルニア州は，Golden State　黄金の州　です。

日本の愛称をWikipediaで調べたら Land of the Rising Sun　日出る処　だね。
