HOT BATHS

thread
The Hori’s were... The Hori’s were one of my Grandpa’s best friends.
This bathhouse has been preserved at the Neely Mansion in Kent, WA.
My daily bedtime treat is a hot bath. I never got in the habit of showers. Studies show hot bath benefits for sleep, cardiac health, arthritis relief, blood flow to all parts for all our organs.

My earliest memory, as a 4-yr-old, is of a trip to a hot spring in Idaho with my Mom and Grandpa. The week of soaking was to help my Mom’s health. Grandpa once told me, his favorite memory as a teenager in Japan was a trip to the Onsen or hot springs, “It was special. I got to go to the 'Onsen' for a few days with my friends!! It was because I had studied hard and worked hard.” The rest of his life, Grandpa was known to have made many trips to the closest hot springs here in America with his Japanese friends. When the soaking was over they played cards and the game of “Go” into the night.

Cousin Daisuke and his new bride visited us recently from Tokyo. Their plan for their next get-away was to an “Onsen” in the Japanese Alps. That seems to be the in-thing for young people there.

SPRING CLEANING

thread
TIME FOR CLEANING BODY - M... TIME FOR CLEANING
BODY - MIND - SOUL AS WELL?
Researchers trace the origin of spring cleaning to the Iranian Nowruz, the Persian new year, which falls on the first day of spring. ... Traditionally, the Catholic church thoroughly cleans the church altar and everything associated with it on Maundy Thursday, the day before Good Friday, in the Spring. In English, the term 'spring clean' dates to around 1855-1860.

Regardless, I am American and think of "spring cleaning" as a term for deep cleaning which happens at various times of the year.

With this Covid-Isolations, we have more time for both polluting our homes as well as cleaning. With my nutrition business, the Shaklee company features the most cost efficient and nonpolluting products for house cleaning. Nutritionally, a 7-day Cleanse package is for our body to be used a few times throughout the year.

My favorite consideration is "Mind Cleansing" with programs like TED. And for my soul, I "deal with what is" and work toward daily fulfillment in this God created universe.

Shakespeare put it well:
"Life is neither good or bad, thinking makes it so!"

IKE'S PRINCIPLE #11 - KARATE

thread
"KARATE" Literally: "Empty H... "KARATE"
Literally: "Empty Hands"
Ready for new beginnings?
We are in the middle of the Covid-19 Isolation. Ike created Principle #11 when he was dealing with racial unrest as administrator of Seattle's Atlantic Street Center in the 1960s. The positive expression in the media was "Black is beautiful".

Ike, with Japanese heritage, thought, "Yellow is Beautiful???" Therefore, he created Ike's Principles. What would Ike have to say about our Coronavirus situation?

McKibbin of Brookings reported on NHK this morning the possibilities of economic advantages in the next few years.

For sure, we are following the recommended guidelines for isolation.

Looking beyond stage one, emptying my hands of critical rhetoric; I choose to use the problems and issues for consideration of new innovations.

TAKING ADVANTAGE OF OUR CRISIS

thread
STAYING IN GRATITUDE WHILE ... STAYING IN GRATITUDE
WHILE PLANNING FOR MORE
“Grandma, did I show you what I did?” as I look at the latest water color project. “Grandma, do you want one?” as I eat the latest version of her brownie cupcakes.

“MMmmm! that’s your best one so far. What did you do different?”

The 4-month Bernedoodle puppy rolls to her back and begs to be petted.

Then, back in my room watching TV - C-SPAN2 Coronavirus Response! Sofia Dickens started EQtainment - learning at home. She is inspiring us to improve decades of school issues, with new ways to learn at home and remotely. She says, "Schools would never have given in to needed changes without this crisis.

Alex Chriss is talking about helping with Quickbooks, "There are a host of ways Small Businesses can benefit."

So good to look at the possible outcomes of our crisis.
