Yesterday PSPINC representatives attended the luncheon for Puget Sound Business Journal's Corporate Champion Awards. PSBJ recognized eight companies as Corporate Champions in eight categories, and 75 total companies for their corporate charitable giving.

PSPINC was recognized as the Healthy Community Corporate Champion in the category of Global Giving for their work in creating the Summer Experience in Seattle program for child survivors of natural disaster and the establishment of PSP Children’s Foundation as a non-profit organization.

Per the Puget Sound Business Journal, "The Corporate Philanthropist Awards honors the 75 companies that make the Business Journal's expanded Corporate Philanthropist Lists, and The Healthy Community Corporate Champion Awards honor eight companies that embrace the Seattle Foundation's mission to create and sustain a "Healthy Community" - or a community built on the eight strong pillars of Arts & Culture, Basic Needs, Economic Opportunity, Education, Environment, Health & Wellness, Neighborhoods & Communities, and Global Giving."

PSPINC is honored to have been acknowledged among these other top companies and hopes to continue their good work through PSPCF and their other contributions to the minority business community and the global community at large.

Bellevue Children's Academy is not only going to be providing classroom instruction for our visiting students this year, they have generously provided a cash donation to PSPCF as well! We couldn't be more thrilled to be working with them again for this year's Summer Experience in Seattle.

Bellevue Children's Academy is a private elementary school founded in 1999 for children in Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. BCA is committed to the education, social development, and well-being of each child. They provide a challenging curriculum and exciting learning activities that encourage creativity, independent thinking, and the quest for personal excellence. PSPCF is proud to count Bellevue Children's Academy among the returning sponsors for this year's Summer Experience program, helping us reach a new group of kids and providing an outstanding contribution to the education component of this year's program.

Thank you, Bellevue Children's Academy!

PSPCF Seeking Hosts & ...
The 2012 Summer Experience was a great success thanks to the generosity of our hosts as well as our sponsors. Our hosts provided generous discounts, places to stay, companies to visit and meals to share.

This year, PSPCF needs companies and attractions that can help by providing discounts or excursions for the group, lodging for the first night for the children and the teachers' lodging for the full two weeks. If your company would like to sponsor or can offer a discount, excursion, accommodation or a great meal for this year's group, please contact info@pspchildrensfoundation.org.

Never Underestimate Kid's Appetites

Never Underestimate Kid's Appe...
After we checked the children in at the Redmond Marriott, we took them out to dinner at Claim Jumper, thinking since they were so tired they may not be able to eat much. So we were ready to order kid's meals...

Oh boy, we were mistaken...

THEY COULD EAT!!!

Full sized meals with chocolate cake and ice cream. Never, EVER underestimate the stomach capacity and appetites of growing kids. Claim Jumper turned out to be a very good choice, and this is an assumption we know better than to make on the first night for this year's Summer Program.
