These compounds have been found to be related to several diseases, including atherosclerosis, asthma, and several types of cancer. As the risk of disease is related to the ratio of the cis/trans isomers, the ability to separate them chromatographically is important.

We have developed a chromatographic method which separates 8 nitrosamines on our 5C18-MS-2 column. This enables detection and quantification of these compounds of concern.
