The morning of Monday October 4th, bloguru will be down for one hour undergoing site maintenance. We are using this downtime to update several backend components which will allow for easier future development of bloguru. Also during this time, we will automatically move any users still using an old skin to the deRed skin. Please note that if your blog is automatically moved, the links in your RSS feed will not be updated. To correct this, simply make a new post or edit any existing posts.

Updated stats graph

This morning we updated the stats graph to display more information and be easier to interpret. These changes come from user reported issues with our original simplified version. This afternoon we released an update which brings several new things. First, there is a new feature called 'Profile Completeness'. This is a progress bar to completing your profile - complete profiles are more search engine friendly, secure, and attract more page views.

Second we released a new skin called "Butterfly Works". This new skin takes advantage of a new post layout which features the date in a new format and all buttons at the top.

In addition there have been several back-end changes to bloguru as well which will make future bloguru development easier.

bloguru was updated this morning to resolve several user reported issues involving newlines in the RSS feeds and editing a post made from a cell phone.

Support for classic skins

Since the release of the new bloguru admin we are effectively dropping support for our classic skins and by the end of September any users using a classic skin will be automatically moved to a new skin. To avoid being caught by this move, please log in to the admin panel and select a new skin.

Today we deployed the new administrative interface for bloguru. This new interface was built to be more intuitive, provide more information, and is easier to maintain. Some of the new features include:

• New graphs showing blog hits over the past several months


• Japanese text fully supported


• Huge security improvement


• Improved usability

Five new skins added

This morning bloguru was updated with 5 new skins in the classic width category (Spring Flowers, Summer Sunset, Simple Black, Simple White, and Red Portfolio). Red Portfolio is using a new layout that has the freespace on top.

Today bloguru was updated with six new skins to bring our skin total to 13. Several of these new skins are upgraded versions of our most requested and popular classic skins.

Additionally we are launching a new feature that automatically links your web addresses in your posts. Just paste the address like this: http://en.bloguru.com
