Tryptophan is known to aid in the creation of the neurotransmitter serotonin and melatonin. Tryptophan is commonly found in milk, turkey, chicken, and oats. A deficiency of tryptophan led to a threefold increase in the bacterium Acetatifactor, and significant reductions of Mucispirillum and Blautia, concludes the author’s study.
