今日のイディオム：back something up
The meaning of back something up is to make a second copy of a file, program, etc. to use if the main one fails.
意味は、バックアップする、〜のコピーを作る、控え（予備）を作る
backupという名詞としても使えます。可算名詞です。
◆Examples:
a. I back up all my files on CD-ROM once a week.
b. Make sure data is backed up regularly.
c. How do I back my computer's hard drive up?
d. Have you made backups of your files?
a. 私はファイルのすべてを週に１回CD-ROMにバックアップを取っている。
b．データの予備がちゃんと取られているか確認してください。

変な英語：結婚おめでとう
お久しぶりです、この企画。
春になりあったかくなりました♡
結婚式をあげるにもいい季節ですね。
そこで、メッセージカードなどに書くときに気をつけましょう！
だいじょうぶ英語: Happy marriage
だめ英語：Happy wedding
これは、weddingは結婚ではなく式のほうを言っているので、ネイティブからすると変に聞こえるんです。
「幸せな結婚を！」ということを言いたいので"Happy marriage!"を使ってくださいね♪

今週からちょっと趣向を変えて、ビジネスシーンで使うイディオムをご紹介していきます。
今日だけ木曜日ですが、今後は毎週水曜日にご紹介していきます！
今日のイディオム：account for something
The meaning of account for something is to form or be source of a particular amount of something. Also it can mean to record an amount in a company's financial records in a particular way.
意味は、〜の割合を占める、〜から成る
◆Examples:
a. Our fashion division accounts for about 35% of sales.
b. 95% of our revenues can be accounted for by 25% of our customers.
c. 28% of jobs in the region are accounted for by manufacturing jobs.
a. ファッション部門は売り上げの約３５％を占める。
b．我々の収入の９５％が顧客の２５％からなっている。
c．その地域の２８％の人が製造業に就いている。

３月３１日の記念日
「耳(3.3)に一番(1)」「耳(3.3)にいい(1)日」という語呂合わせ。
歴史は浅く、２００６年に社団法人日本オーケストラ連盟が制定して、今年が３年目。
全国のオーケストラがそれぞれの地域でオーケストラの様々な催しを開催していきます。
クラッシック、と聞くと敷居が高そうですが、そんなことありません。
マナーと言っても、基本は人の迷惑にならないこと。
服装もカジュアルでオッケーだし、もちろんドレスアップしても♪
いい演奏だったら拍手で応えましょう♪♪♪

（今夜クラシックのコンサートに行きます。）
※英語だと、classic musicではなくclassical musicというところに注意です。

ひとこと英会話: run short
今日のフレーズは、run short
意味は、不足する、尽きる。
To "run short" means to not have enough of something; to not have enough of something to continue or to finish something.
a. We ran short of gas when we were still miles from our destination.
b. The company ran short of funds.
c. If you don't control your spending you will run short of money.
d. Time was running short and shots still weren't falling.
a. 目的地まであとまだ何マイルもあるところでガス欠になった。
b．その会社は資金不足だった。
c．お金の使い方を考えないと金欠になるよ。
d. 時間がないのにシュートがまだ決まらなかった。

・Peaches were used as a charm against evil. 魔除けとして、桃を使っていた。
・In the area of people believing superstition, _____. 迷信を信じている地域では。。。
・It's believed that when girls get their hair shaved black hair grows back beautifully. 女の子の髪を剃ると、黒くてきれいな髪が生えると信じられている。

YouTubeを再生すると英語で色々な話が聞けて、下に何を言ったのかが書いてあります。
最初は英語だけを聞いて何を言っているのかを集中して聞いてみましょう。
そして２回目に、英文を見ながら聞くと耳と目で確認ができます！
１回の放送分は5分程度なので、そんなに時間もかけずにできるのもいいですね♪

ひとこと英会話。sweet on her
きょうのフレーズは、 sweet on/to/with him/her. 意味は、昨日のベラベラクラスでも出てきた「彼／彼女に夢中だ」、「好きだ」。
でもこの表現は、恋愛について限定です。
Using the word "sweet" in connection with male-female relations apparently comes from the fact that almost everybody likes sweets... so a sweetheart is someone you love. Being sweet on someone means to like or love them in a romantic sense.
a. She is so sweet on him she can't even see anybody else.
b. I'm not sweet on her! She's just a friend!
c. From the way you act you are really sweet on her.
ａ．彼女は彼にぞっこんで、彼以外の人は見えていない。
ｂ．彼女の事は別に好きじゃない。ただの友達だよ。

３月１４日のクラスのフィードバックでございます。
I'm glad that I could write up the feedback today!!
１４日の回では、boredとboring、excitedとexcitingなどの違いを練習しました。I was boring to watch TV.と言ってしまいそうですが、「ワタシ」はつまらない人ではないはずですので、I was bored to watch TV.でお願いします！
それではフレーズをご紹介します。

・ Try, even though you fail. 失敗してもいいから、やりなさい。
