Condolences to Steve Jobs

thread
For many people, Steve Jobs was an icon. However, he was more than an icon for PSP.

PSP started licensing and localizing Macintosh games and utility software products for the Japanese market in the early 90’s. When the Mac market became significantly smaller in the mid-90’s, our Macintosh licensing business went down with it. We couldn’t even find a master distributor for a good title like “Tomb Raider.”

But with our belief that the Mac market in Japan could still be a market for PSP to license and export software titles, we made the decision to release “Tomb Raider” for Mac in Japan, selling directly to end user customers without any distributors. That was the beginning of our new project—JapanCentral.com—and it was around the same time Steve Jobs returned to Apple.

Then the iMac changed our business. With the iMac bringing back love for Mac products to the existing customer-base and also to new users, we successfully brought many Macintosh games to the Japanese market and continued to sell our Macintosh titles in Japan into the early 2000’s.

The packaged software market has changed significantly during the last decade. PSP also made the transition to an internet service company with our own software running on all the servers. We no longer export Macintosh games to Japan, but if you come and visit us at PSP, you will see our gratitude for the Mac legacy. Our lobby is filled with Mac products from the past and our hall way is decorated with memorabilia from Mac World Tokyo.

All of us at PSP would like to thank Steve Jobs for giving us a chance to survive the tough technology climate of the 90’s. PSP wouldn’t have been able to reach where we are today without our relationship with Macintosh. The contributions Steve Jobs made to the world of technology allowed PSP to become our own software company.

We will follow his passion and carry on believing in our dreams for innovations, “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish.”

Thank you, Steve, for leading our way.

With our deepest sympathy,
Pacific Software Publishing, Inc.

PSP Ranked On Inc. 5000 2011 List

thread
PSP Ranked On Inc. 5000 2011...
PSP has ranked 3,564 on the 2011 Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America. The annual list published by Inc. magazine focuses on privately held, U.S.-based companies with revenue growth over the last three years. This is PSP’s third year to be ranked by Inc. 5000.

“In 2009 we ranked 4049, 3418 in 2010, and 3564 this year in 2011 in Inc. 5000. PSP has been fortunate to have the growth even after 2007 thanks to all of our customers, “said Mayumi Nakamura, President and CEO of PSP. “ We have a dedicated team of staff, who just love what we do - helping our customers. I believe when we keep doing the right things, we will reach our goals. “

PSP established in Washington, receives 90% of their corporate domain hosting business from Japan and is currently one of the largest corporate domain hosting providers outside of Japan for the Japanese market. As one of the Northwest's leading business Web and Email Hosting providers with over 24 years of industry experience, PSP plans to grow the U.S. market to meet and exceed the business from the Japanese market.

“This year more than ever is a testament to the reliance and tenacity of America’s top entrepreneurs,” Jane Brentson Editor in Chief Inc. Magazine. “Inc. recognizes the creativity, dedication and hard work that have gone into building PSP into what it is today.”

"We look forward to maintaining growth of our business and the company, and increasing our ranking on the list in the next year," said Mayumi Nakamura.

Email Alias Deployment

thread
We have added the Alias feature to our email service.

Alias is a feature for the domain manager to create up to 100 alias accounts and link them to specified email accounts. The emails will be delivered to the linked accounts within the same domain name. You can link one email account per alias.

For example: Kenichi.Uchikura@pspinc.com is an alias for Ken.Uchikura@pspinc.com

For this example Ken’s original email address is Ken.Uchikura@pspinc.com but his name is kenichi.uchikura@pspinc.com so we create an alias for this and direct it to be forwarded to his original email address.

Emails delivered to the Alias accounts will be processed by the Spam Filter, Mail Forwarding, and Auto-Reply of the linked email address and then delivered to the linked email address on the email server. Alias accounts do not have their own mail boxes.

If users need more than 100 accounts, accounts can added at any time by requesting to our sales department.

Alias accounts are not counted in the domain account limit; therefore it does not affect the domain account limit. There are no additional costs for using aliases. This feature is available only on the newly released IMAP email service.

Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at support@pspinc.com

thread
Free Email Upgrade
PSP, Inc has now released the full version of IMAP for DreamersI email hosting packages. Now offering free email upgrade to all DreamersI hosting customers. Access your email from anywhere from multiple computes and Smartphone’s.

Clients Who Have Made the Switch!
Dai Ichi Travel a full service travel agency serving corporate and private travelers has switched to IMAP for synchronization benefits. Dai Ichi Travel Uses email for communication with clients as well as for internal communications with occasional sales and marketing materials.

“We decided to make the switch to IMAP for synchronizing our emails client tools such as outlook and mobile phones. This eliminates a redundant process of going through the same emails on a mobile device that has been viewed and responded in outlook.” Says Suemi Kratochvil “The most satisfying thing about switching over to IMAP is having access to all the emails that have been received /sent in outlook.”

When asked about working with PSP, Inc during the IMAP switch Suemi said “PSP, Inc personnel have been very accommodating, helpful and courteous throughout the process of the transition. We are very happy with PSP, Inc”

What is IMAP?
IMAP is a way of accessing your emails from our servers, similar to POP. The primary advantage of IMAP is that no matter how many machines you download your emails from (desktop computer, phone, and laptop), all mails will still be maintained on the server and you will still have complete access to your e-mails. Servers will backup all email activates, so you always get the newest email information.

For information, please contact us today to start your upgraded IMAP beta trial at sales@pspinc.com or 425-957-0808
