弊社エンリンクス・パートナーズ社は、日本伝統工芸「継承」活動を「EnArtEx」ブランディングで立ち上げています。そもそも日本刀存続の危機を知ったのがキッカケになります。
シアトル在住中に吉原義人刀匠と知己を得ることができ、日本刀存続の危機に驚愕を覚えました。国宝に指定されている工芸品で一番数が多いのが日本刀になり、平安・鎌倉時代から江戸・明治時代までの古い刀は、アンテイーク価値として売買もされていますが、今日作られている現代刀の需要は激減しているのが実情です。
現代刀匠が生活困窮から廃業していくと、日本刀が作られるという姿が消滅する運命もそう遠くない現実があります。いくつかの日本伝統工芸品が同様な危機的状況にありますが、そうした伝統文化が自分の生きている時代に姿を消すのは耐えられず、居ても立っても居られない気持ちからスタートしました。
このスタートのキッカケにもなったのが、シアトルの友人の反応でした。彼に日本刀に宿る日本文化、精神と存続危機を話すと、彼は値段も聞かずに三振り注文してくれました。その驚きの経験がこのプロジェクトを始動する大きな勇気を与えてくれました。自分に何ができるか？と考えた時に「匠」個人を海外にPRし、匠個人のファン開拓から購買につながるパトロンをプロデュースすることが自分の強みと考えました。作品の購買だけでなく、イベントや作品製作のコラボレーションのパートナー発掘にもつなげたいと考えています。

The Japanese Traditional Crafts Business
I launched "EnArtEx" as a branding activity for "inheriting" Japanese traditional crafts. In the first place, I knew the crisis of the survival of the Japanese sword. While living in Seattle, I was able to get acquainted with Yoshindo Yoshihara who is one of the most famous Japanese swordsmith in the world, and I was surprised at the survival of the Japanese sword when he told me the current situation. The largest number of arts and crafts designated as the Japanese national treasures is the Japanese sword. Old swords from the Heian / Kamakura period to the Edo / Meiji period are also sold as antique values, but the demand for modern swords made today is currently declining sharply.
When modern swordsmiths go out of business due to poor business conditions, the reality is that the fate of Japanese swords disappearing is not far away. Some Japanese traditional crafts are in the similar crisis, but I can't stand the fact that such traditional culture disappears in my life time period so that I am starting this activity as business.
When I told one of my friends about the Japanese culture, spirit and survival crisis of Japanese swords in Seattle, he ordered three swords without asking the price. That amazing experience gave me great courage to start this project. When I think what I can do, it is my strength and mission to publicize craftsman individuals overseas and produce patronage that leads to purchasing from the development of craftsman as their individual fans. I would like to connect not only to purchasing but also to finding partners for collaboration in events and production of works.
