I wanted to come to America because I really liked Elvis ... But he passed away 1977, a year before I came to America to study. Elvis in Hawaii was broadcasted in Japan and I remember watching it. My aunt was at the concert as an audience. I wish I was there.
By the way, I learned this My Way in English before I learn to speak English. I just remember the word by the sounds.
I am starting to get ready for my business trip to Japan. This morning, I checked my clothings and found out all my dress shirts are too big. I used to wear as big as size 19 but I found out my actual collar is 17-17.5 and sleeve length of 36-37. I bought one today and Nordstrom Rack and I ordered one online. Now, I have to look for suit. This is good but to costs.
I donated many of my suits and shirts to Goodwill this morning.
Prime minster of Japan just announced that Japan will be open to non-visa business and tourists from the US. It has been 2 years and 6 months since they closed the door. I am looking forward to visiting Japan soon.
The internet has changed many businesses. I believe the most significant change is how close the distance between producers and consumers has become. For example, we used to consult with a travel agent and schedule our trips when traveling abroad. It was convenient for both the consumer and the distributor. It eliminated the need to secure human resources and locations, which was a clear advantage. However, this business model doesn’t work the same way now. Today, moving travel agencies online is easier and cheaper as they provide the same services. However, it unclear what will happen to these online agencies in the future.
When I travel for business, I use online agencies for air travel. But for hotels, I try to book directly from the hotel’s website. Although it’s typically more expensive, there’s more flexibility with cancellations and other possible changes when booking directly through the hotel’s website. After the travel industry, I believe the automobile sales industry will change next. In the U.S., dealerships generally handle sales. However, Tesla’s changing this model.
Now, people buy cars online. There’s no price negotiation or anything. Also, manufacturers can have more access to the end-user information, which they couldn’t do before. In the U.S., Ford is working hard to promote this consumer tie-in. Instead of the dealer holding the inventory, the manufacturer will sell the product to the consumer at a fixed price. Then, the dealer will provide delivery and support. I feel that this change will continue to progress in various industries.
The internet's power is in the hands of the consumer and the manufacturer. Intermediary margins will become smaller and smaller. I think we need to understand this and always think of new business models. As a software developer and manufacturer, my company needs to consider what we can offer.
This canned soup has only 50mg of salt. I bought it and they were delivered today.
I will let you know how they taste.
I try to reduce my salt intake ... If this taste good, I will be happy.
Corey Coffman, President, came over today to let me know his team will start cleaning and painting our two buildings tomorrow. Those buildings were painted when Corey was with another company belonging to Seattle Executives Association probably 15 years ago. So it is about tome we need to refresh.
When I asked him to paint, we did not even ask for other bids. This is how Seattle Executives Works.
Waking 3 miles is not so difficult when you play golf.
I played golf first time in few months.
I used the cart but I still ended top waling 2.5 miles.
I was sore and little tired toward the end, but I made it.
What was my score ???
I shot 101 ... I am not happy about this score but I am happy I was able to play 18 holes.
Before my liver surgery, I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) for years. The recommend salt intake for CKD people in the US is 2g (2,000mg) or two test spoons. That sounds a lot but it is not much. If you eat one cup-a-noodle, your intake is about 1.5g (75% of your daily intake). One BigMac and small fries have about 1g of salt.
When I go to Japan, I Preallyhave to be very careful how much salt I take in especially I will be eating eating out a lot. The recommended salt intake for CKD people in Japan is 6g ... three times as much in Japan. In the US, people average take in 3.5g of salt a day compared to 11g in Japan. No wonder there are more CKD in Japan.
