College Degree is not a path to higher wages ... it is just a pass to open an entry door!

Having a college degree can indeed provide a pathway into the business world, but it does not automatically allow one to bypass entry-level positions. The degree serves as a foundation, offering essential knowledge and skills that are valued by employers. However, practical experience, work ethic, and the ability to apply what you've learned in a real-world setting are critical components that are typically developed in entry-level roles.

postinheaven.com is a website I designed and host, allowing people, including myself, to write messages to loved ones in heaven. This site does not read or save your messages; it simply provides a space to express your feelings without anyone else reading them. While the site may seem functionally simple, it offers a unique emotional benefit. Feel free to write anything you want, and if you like the site, please leave a comment. Thank you.

Ken Uchikura Newsletter Vol. 286 Online Marketing 101

thread
Ken Uchikura Newsletter Vol. ...

Online Marketing 101

I'm sure you all understand that simply publishing a website isn't enough to increase your customer base. Here’s a quick online marketing guide to help you figure out what to do after creating your page.

  1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
The key to getting your website picked up by search engines like Google is in the content of your page. The process of improving the information on your website to increase web traffic is called SEO optimization. It involves things like meta tags, keyword alignment, and ensuring support for mobile devices. Additionally, security using SSL is also crucial.

  2. Listing in Local Directories
In the past, you wanted to get listed in the phone book, but now it's all about platforms like Yelp and other local information sites. This is especially important for businesses with physical locations or storefronts.

  3. Setting Up a Google Business Profile
Sometimes when you google a company, you see the company’s information displayed on the right side of the search results. This is a Google Business Profile, and you can apply with Google to get one set up for your business. It takes some effort, but it makes it easier for potential clients to find you.

  4. Posting on Social Media
There are many social media platforms like blogs, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. It's not crucial which you use, but posting your company's information on a wide variety of platforms will widen your reach. If you're unsure about what to write, you can talk about normal everyday events or what you've eaten that day. It's also important for people to know what kind of person you are, not just about your business.

  5. Email Marketing
While many online marketing methods rely on people finding you, email allows you to directly deliver information to your customers and leads. However, we want to make sure the emails don’t get tagged as spam. If you want to send out bulk emails, I recommend using a tool designed for that, like PSPINC's NewsMAIL.

  6. Paid Advertising
Most of the digital marketing activities mentioned above can be done for free, but utilizing paid options like Google Ads might also be beneficial. When running ads, it's important to specify your target audience by things like location or age, or else you might end up wasting advertising budget. Proper ad management is important.
Similar to Google Ads, you can also advertise on social media platforms.
Considering these options and evaluating your capabilities or the cost of outsourcing these tasks are crucial when planning an effective online marketing plan. Creating a website is just the beginning, not the end.
