アメリカのテキサス州では現在、日本の新幹線をベースにした高速鉄道の開発が進んでいます。しかし、このプロジェクトにおいて、日本の新幹線をそのままアメリカに導入することには難しい課題が生じています。日本の新幹線はほとんど事故がなく、これは当たり前のこととされています。一方で、アメリカでは鉄道の脱線事故や人身事故が多発しており、そのために鉄道列車車両は脱線や事故を想定した安全対策が盛り込まれています。これには、日本の新幹線には存在しない脱出に関連した企画などが含まれています。
