デザインの品評会

昨日ホテルに戻る途中、赤坂の街を歩いていたのですが、そこにあったビルの店舗案内がこの写真です。お店がこれだけ入っているんだと思いますが、なんかきれいなロゴが並んでいます。この一つ一つのデザイン、誰かが考えたんでしょうね。これだけたくさんのお店があって、その分だけのデザインが存在します。差別化は本当に大変なのだと思います。この中でどうやれば目立つのでしょうね。なんて言うことを考えてしまいました。

新しいビジネスを考える場合、どうしても過去のビジネスとぶつかってしまいます。過去のビジネスを残したまま新しいビジネスをと考えると革新的なものはできてきません。過去のビジネスとは別物として新しいビジネスを生み出す必要があります。過去のビジネスい、現在のビジネスを温存しながら新しいビジネスに手を出してうまくいけば乗り換えを行いたいと言う考えでは新しいビジネスはなかなか成功しません。

多くの場合、新しいビジネスは過去のビジネスを踏襲してしまいます。新しいビジネスを産むということは、今までのビジネスを否定することになってしまう場合も少なくはありません。だからどうしても決断が難しいのだと思います。だからといって新しいビジネスをしなければ誰か他の人がしてしまいます。そしてその新しいビジネスに市場をとられてしまうのです。他社に試乗を取れる前に、自分で新しいビジネスを始める方が自殺行為には見えるかもしれませんが、正しい選択ではないでしょうか？

While returning to the hotel yesterday, I was walking through the streets of Akasaka, and I came across this photo of a storefront directory on a building. It seems like there are quite a few shops inside, each with its own beautiful logo design. Someone must have put thought into each of these designs. With so many shops, there exists just as many designs. Setting yourself apart is truly challenging. I couldn't help but wonder how one can stand out among all these.

When considering a new business, it inevitably clashes with past businesses. Trying to innovate while preserving past businesses rarely leads to something groundbreaking. It's necessary to create a new business as something distinct from the past. Attempting to start a new business while preserving past or current ones, and hoping for a smooth transition, often doesn't lead to success.

In many cases, new businesses end up simply replicating past ones. Giving birth to a new business can sometimes mean denying what has been done before. Hence, making decisions becomes quite challenging. However, refraining from starting a new business means someone else might do it, and they could end up capturing the market. While starting a new business before others can test the waters might seem like a risky move, isn't it the right choice?
