The area around Ikebukuro station is always crowded with many people. Ikebukuro is one of the largest entertainment districts in Japan after Shinjuku and Shibuya, and many stores stay open late into the night.
In addition, there are many hotels in Ikebukuro, which seem to be a little cheaper than other central Tokyo hotels. In terms of transportation, besides the JR Yamanote Line, Ikebukuro has stations on the JR Saikyo Line, JR Shonan Shinjuku Line, Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, Seibu Ikebukuro Line, and Tobu Tojo Line, making it convenient to travel around Tokyo.
