●5月1日から5月3日の間、総領事館において皇太子殿下御即位を記念した祝賀記帳を受け付けます。
●但し、5月1日及び3日は当館休館日のため領事業務は行っておりませんので御注意下さい（記帳のみ受け付けています）。

1. 在シアトル総領事館では、5月1日の皇太子殿下御即位を記念した祝賀記帳を受け付けます。

日時：2019年5月1日（水）～5月3日（金）※
　　　午前10時～午後4時
場所：在シアトル総領事館
　　　601 Union St, Suite 500, Seattle, WA 98101

※但し、5月1日（天皇即位の日）及び5月3日（憲法記念日）は当館休館日のため領事業務は行っておりませんので御注意下さい（記帳のみ受け付けています）。

2. 2019年4月1日の閣議会議で、2019年5月1日からの新しい元号は「令和」と決定しました。「令和」は美しい調和という意味が込められており、日本最古の歌集「万葉集」から引用したものです。

さて米国では太子殿下御即位の式に女性が入られないという話が出ています。日本にはまだまだ男尊女卑が根強く残っているようですね。以前相撲の土俵に女性が上がって問題になりましたよね。

Emperor Akihito of Japan is abdicating the throne in a few hours, the first Japanese emperor to do so in more than 200 years. His son, Naruhito, will begin his ascension to the imperial throne on Wednesday.
But his wife won’t be allowed to attend.

Women in the royal family are not permitted to be in the room during a sacred ceremony in which he will receive royal regalia. It’s just one of many examples of the diminished status of women in Japan’s imperial family, which have left the imperial family with few heirs.

即位式に女性は入れないのは皇位継承が男子に限定されている所以であり決して男尊女卑でないと思います。土俵に女性云々は昔からのしきたりのようで、公共の場ではありませんので・・・・
