家の周りでは、年中見られる花ですが朝露を受けて咲き始めるということから日陰の湿っぽい場所で見かけることが多くちょっと陰気な感じがします。

万葉集にも見かける名前ということで古くから日本にあるんですね。藍色の部分が白い種類もあるようですが見たことはありません。
