Pompom looks happy sleeping.
No pain, no discomfort.
Tiny
He is slow but healthy.
Pompom is recovering from his chemo slowly. This time it took 4 days to start getting things normal. He sleeps almost all day recently. Tiny, his best friend, is doing the same next to him at the office. What a pair!
They make me sleepy too.
Pompom did not sleep that well last night. So, I could not either.
He looks tired today. I think chemo might be still effecting him.
If that is the case, I hope he gets over it soon.
Last time I was at the vet, the doctor used the word "Quality of Life".
That tell me they are not curing his cancer but making it tolerable as long as they can.
They are very good at doing that.
I really hope someday cancers become curable.
Pompom is recovering from his 6th chemo ... He still does not have much of an appetite, but he ate some. He sleeps a lot ... but so does Tiny. I think when dogs get to be over 15, they sleep a lot.
I purchased medical eye-drops for Tiny (and Pompom but mainly Tiny) who seem to developed some cataracts. I want to keep them healthy including eyesights.
This is the third time he was infused with this type of chemo. He does not do very well but this chemo is very effective. He coughed few times last night which made me awake several times. He has no appetite today. I am sure he will get over it in a day or two. Next chemo is scheduled for December 30th. So he has almost two weeks without treatment.
My daughter came back from NY yesterday for Christmas and New Year. I thought Pompom would not meet her again a month ago. Pompom was happy to see her.
He will have less energy and appetite for few days after his chemo.
Pompom completed his 6th chemo this morning. According to his doctor at SUMMIT VET in Tacoma, he is doing very well. His lymph nodes are normal now and his lungs are sounding much better.
I don't think we can cure his cancer (Lymphoma) but his quality of life has improved tremendously. I hope he will continue this path.
Thank you for your thoughts and messages. So far he is winning the battle with his cancer. I wonder if he know how lucky he is.
It is a quiet and relazing Sunday. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.
I have to take Pompom to chemo tomorrow morning.
This will be his 6th treatment.
Compared to a month ago, when we started his treatment, he is much better.
I am very thankful for the technology.
I have to change my opinion about chemotherapy.
15 and half year old Tiny and 15 year old Pompom
Best Buddies
It rained overnight. I took Pompom and Tiny and Nano to Medina Sate Park (Off Leash Park). It took about 30 minutes to make one round. We used to be able to do multiple rounds few years ago but I guess those days were over.
I am thankful just for the fact that I still walk with Tiny and Pompom. I am sure Nano have more years. I am in the office and soon I will be cooking dinner for them.
Pompom will have another chemotherapy on Monday. We are fighting this cancer together.
Thank you!!!
Yes, Pompom has survived one month since the start of chemotherapy. I have heard of horror stories about chemotherapy so I did not want Pompom to go through it.
Since the chemotherapy started, enlarged lymph nodes have shrunk down to the normal size. He is not breathing heavily any more. He is not coughing as much either. Sure there were few days chemotherapy caused nausea and loss of appetites. But compared to the alternative, chemotherapy is working wonderfully.
He will have 3 more weekly chemotherapy and then 8 more biweekly chemotherapy. In total 6 month treatment. Thank you all for your support. I really do not know what is going to happen ... knowing nobody lives forever. I am glad that I am able to give Pompom more time with us.
Pompom is doing as well as expected. I cannot use the word FINE because I don't really know what is going on. But he is sleeping well and eating okay. Tiny and Nano are staying with us since last night.
There was a burglar alarm little after 6:00am ... I came to the office to find out the carpet installers have set off the alarm. Since I was already at the office, I took Mayumi to the airport. It took only 20 minutes to get the airport but it took over an hour coming back. I cannot imagine there are people doing this everyday.
Mayumi's flight took unexpected stop at Victoria on the way from Seattle to Vancouver. She just reported that they are taking off from Victoria ... She will make the connecting flight to Tokyo.
