Interestingly, platforms like YouTube and X operate on a revenue model tied to content views or reads. In essence, higher viewership translates to increased earnings. As a result, individuals disseminating information for profit tend to prioritize the transmission of negative news. This likely explains the prevalence of negative, if not entirely fake, information circulating online.

It is crucial to recognize that information serves not only as a way to convey facts but also as a tool to generate income. Financial motives drive much of the information circulating on the internet, emphasizing the need for discernment when consuming content online.

 

 

 

 

 

After a nine-hour flight from Seoul, Korea, I safely arrived back in Seattle around 11 AM. The typical Seattle rain greeted me, but as I flew over downtown, the clouds seemed to break. I managed to capture some stunning pictures from the window during the descent. It feels good to be back in Seattle, and I'm looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow, Monday.

When I fly Delta, I get free WiFi thanks to T-Mobile.

However on Asiana, I had to buy the WiFi option.

The WiFi is quite slow but it is usable.

Today is the last day in Tokyo. I'll be getting on the bus to Narita airport in about two hours. It's another beautiful day in Tokyo and the picture is taken this morning but looks exactly like the one I posted yesterday. I packed my baggage, but I have so many gifts, that almost all my baggage are full of goodies. I'm glad I'm not the one who is carrying them.

 

I will be frying from Narita airport to Korea first then I'll be flying from courier to Seattle. I will have couple of hours in Korea or Incheon airport. I think all the people I met in Tokyo and Osaka on this trip. I hope to come back in a few months again.

Recently, I’ve heard a lot on TV about a party income kickback of the Japanese Liberal Democratic party that was considered a slush fund. I’m not sure what this kickback money is, but is this a tax evasion issue? I believe if a corporation has undeclared income, it results in additional surcharges and fines for tax evasion, and sometimes, there’s even criminal liability, but is the same true for political factions? Is a faction generally a registered entity like a corporation?

Does a faction have a managerial representative? If a company evades taxes, do they punish the accounting person in charge instead of the business owner? I don’t know much about politics, but I’ve noticed that those responsible seem to get away with saying they didn’t know anything.

A business owner’s responsibility is not to say that he or she didn’t know. Instead, a business owner is ultimately responsible for everything that happens in the company, even if they don’t actually know anything about it. Conversely, management can become what Japanese people call “the lizard’s tail”, where they get sacrificed to save the larger group. In particular, they may treat hired business owners as such.

This series of news reports makes me feel that the political world and the business world look similar but are never the same. Politicians collect votes in elections. In business, on the other hand, the votes are product sales. In business, there are many laws to prevent fraud, but in politics, it seems they haven’t established rules to the same extent.

 

 

There is a renowned restaurant called Rib Room located on the basement floor of the New Otani Hotel, known for serving high-quality Wagyu beef, a prized Japanese delicacy. While I haven't had the opportunity to dine there myself, it appears to be a popular destination among affluent foreigners. Personally, I have a preference for Angus beef over the fattier Japanese variety, although I must admit I haven't consumed enough beef to discern a significant difference. For those seeking an authentic Wagyu experience, Rib Room at New Otani Hotels comes highly recommended.

 

 

 

 

After the breakfast and lunch meetings, I had whole afternoon to explore Tokyo. I just decided to walk and walk. I ended up waling over 17,000 steps. 

 

 

 

It began snowing yesterday afternoon and continued until this morning. I'm observing the outside from my room, and there's not much snow, perhaps a couple of inches at most. I'm curious to see how well Tokyo is equipped to handle snow. The temperature is around 34°F, so some streets may be slippery.

When you get off the train after a long ride, all passengers on the train pick up their trash to dispose of it at the trash bins on the platform. Tokyo Station is the last stop, and the Japan Trail cleaning staff is famous for efficiently cleaning the entire train in just a few minutes.
