印尼紀行その１８：Ubudの朝

朝５時、日本の夏ならすでに日が昇り始めているのですが、赤道直下の夜明けには１時間ほど。
日本では南天に見えるオリオンが天頂からやや北に見える。
南天には雲の中に南十字星が見え隠れしている・・
その星たちも次第に輝きを失う頃、夜明けが始まる。

赤道直下の夜明けは緩やかに始まる、東の空に茜雲が見えるのですが、これも忽ち追い払われ、霊峰アグンの勇姿が現れます。

アグンは聖なる山、Baliの人々の祈りは全てこの山に向って行われます。

水田にも礼拝用の祠があり、それらはアグンに向っているのです。
