ツツジ科の馬酔木が満開です。

一つ一つは、小さなつぼ型の花ですが一斉に咲くと綺麗だと思います。

葉は煎じると殺虫剤になるとか。綺麗なものには毒があるんですね。

山でも馬酔木は少しづつ生息域を拡大していますね、10年という単位ですが確実に広がっています。
やはり食害に遭いにくいのでしょうか？

公園とか庭先でしか見たことがないのですが、奈良公園でも鹿が食べないことから増えているっていう記述がありますね。
馬酔木自身は食害に遭いにくと言えそうですね。
