最近(さいきん)「匠(たくみ)（Takumi）」という言葉(ことば)をよく聞(き)くようになった。なんでも修行(しゅぎょう)を積(つ)んでトップレベルを極(きわ)めた人(ひと)たちを匠(たくみ)と呼(よ)んでいるようです。でも実際(じっさい)匠(たくみ)はどういう意味(いみ)なのでしょうか。匠(たくみ)という漢字(かんじ)は、「匚」と「斤」からできていることがわかります。

「匚」は、箱(はこ)を意味(いみ)する漢字(かんじ)で「はこがまえ」と言(い)います。そして「斤」は、「おの」のような道具(どうぐ)を表(あらわ)す漢字(かんじ)です。この2つが組(く)み合(あ)わさってできている匠(たくみ)という漢字(かんじ)は、工作(こうさく)、制作(せいさく)というものを作(つく)り出(だ)すことに優(すぐ)れているという意味(いみ)を持(も)っています。

最近(さいきん)は色々(いろいろ)な匠(たくみ)が存(そん)在(ざい)しますが、もともとは大工(だいく)、工作(こうさく)などに優(すぐ)れた人(ひと)に対(たい)して使(つか)われていた言葉(ことば)です。


匠 Takumi
