I was at NIKE HQ in Oregon. This was my first time. Most buildings look like Microsoft buildings but they are situated in more green environment. It was amazing.

One More Weekly Meeting

thread
One More Weekly Meeting
I will finish my duty as a president of Seattle Executives Association will come to an end at the end of this month.

I consider myself a DO'er rather than a Leader. But as a president of an association, there are only so much I can do by myself. Actually, there in nothing you can do all by yourself. You always have to consider and consult with other members. After all, everyone in the association a leader of their own companies.

I learned a lot. This has been one of the most memorable things I have ever done in my life. I will remember this forever. I wish I knew what I know now at the beginning of the term. Thank you everyone for the opportunity to be SEA president for last six months.

Just one more month!

thread
Just one more month!
I was elected to be a second vice president of Seattle Executives Association 17 months ago. After 6 months as a second VP, and 6 months as a VP, I have been serving as a president of the association since January of this year.

During this last 5 months, we have lost 12 members and gained 9 members. I think that is one of the most in-and-out the association ever had in its 90+ years of the history. I am hoping to add 3 to 4 more members this month that will make it about even as I am leaving this position.

I was hoping for smooth sailing for my term but it was nothing but ... I feel like I had a crush course in management. It is an experience that you can't buy with any amount of money. Just 4 more meetings to go.

You have a message.

thread
You have a message.
When does your job end when you take a message? It is all depends on how well you want to do your job in your company. Here are some options.

- Write down the message on the pad and leave it on the desk of the person.

If you do not do that, you have no hope. If you are a receptionist at the busy company, that may be all you can do. But if you are not hired as a receptionist and happened to pickup a phone and took message, you may want to

Write down the message
Leave the message on the desk
Call later to find out if the person responded (make sure the message was delivered.)

If you can do that, you are more than the receptionist. You just became an owner of that message. There are more thing you can do than just write the message down.
