We were able to avoid any traffic related issue with the high access from Japan. However, one of our servers developed the problem so we failed over to our backup server at HQ.
We found a malfunction on the backup server, so we revert back to the primary server after the restart. We are currently working hard to find the problem with the backup server. This affected customer in Japan and we are very sorry. We will find the problem even if we had to work all night.
This problem affected no customers in the US.
It is almost 8:00 am in Japan. The traffic has not started yet. Those graphs show the last 24 hour bandwidth use for our two backbone lines to Japan. They are currently running below 20% capacities.
For security purpose, we are not showing the actuarial Bits Per Second and name of back born providers.
We are expecting large spike in Internet traffic from Japan due to the ending of the summer vacation. We have those Internet traffic surges on three occasions from Japan.
(1) First working day after the new year
(2) First working day after the Golden Week in end of April to May
(3) First working day after the Bon summer holiday
This is the first of such surfer after we swap our storage to SAN. I hope nothing will happen.
