Today, at Seattle Executives Association meeting, Mayumi Nakamura introduced the new email service called IMAP by PSPINC. I would like to take a moment to confuse you little more with this posting.
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is the way for you to share one mailbox with multiple devices such as PC, Cellular Phone and Tablet like iPad. Instead of downloading your email to the device, emails stay at the IMAP server and you just use you device to read, reply, store delete, write email. When you delete an email, you are deleting it from the server. When you write an email, you send email from the server and store it on SENT folder on the server. So no matter which device you use to access your email, it is all synched and up to date.
It take a lot more storage and CPU power on the server. This is what we are going to release as a new product this quarter.
We started the second phase of R&DD building remodeling today. It is all demolition today. We are create new office space, kitchen and break area and my new office.
PSPINC developed and host the site called http://www.clocklink.com. It has close to 30 million views daily. When you search Google using "World Clock", "Blog Clock" "Free Clock" and even just "Clock", the site is listed in the first page.
This is the most popular web site that we own. Just placing a link on the site, you the site will receive thousands of hits daily. PSPINC will focus on developing this site even farther this year.
Mayumi Nakamura, president of PSPINC, really like her new Samsung Galaxy Tab (Android 2.2 Based Tablet) she got last week. With 3G service, and our new IMAP email server (alpha testing), she can do almost all her work with this tablet anywhere.
We got this tablet from Bluewater Wireless, former Seattle Executives Association member company.
If you want to purchase a tablet, the only choice you had was Apple's iPad. It was a wonderful tablet but has some issues. Also, it was not cheap.
Now there is an alternative. It is called Android. There are several manufacturers making Android table and you can pick one up from $100 to $299. One of the most refined Android tablets is called Samsung Galaxy Tab. If you like Android phone, you will love this tablet.
I am a iPad user but I wish I had this Galaxy Tab. You can use both iPad and Galaxy Tab with PSPINC email service http://www.dreamersi.com
Apple Macintosh has came a long ways. It was a nice and cute computer at first but it is now one of the most well built computers with well designed operating system. Do I recommend it to anyone ... No. Absolutely not.
Everyone is different and some can work fine with mac but many others will be happier with Widows. I should say some are happy with Linux or even no computers. It is a personal preference, nothing more.
I like Mac because it does what I need to do. If you are doing what I do, I recommend Mac. But I am sure you are not doing what I do, so I should recommend nothing.
By the way, I collect those old Macintoshes. If you have them please donate it to PSPINC's in house museum.
16 years ago today, there was an earthquake in Kobe Japan. It was reported first to be minor shake but it turned out one of the worst natural disasters in Japan killing Over 6,400 people.
Is consultant a teacher or a coach?
A teacher should have more knowledge than the student.
A coach should be able to guide the client to perform better.
Many cases a consultant is neither. That is very unfortunate.
As you save, edit and erase files from your computer's disk drives, files in those disks gets fragmented. There is a software called defragmenter within all versions of Windows. You should run it once in a while (like once every 3 month) to help speed up your computer.
It is a good idea to replace (upgrade) your hard disk drive if you are using it for more than 3 years. When you copy all your files from the old hard disk to a new one, you will not have any fragmentation. Then you can format the old disk and use it as a backup.
We are installing new gutters to our R&D building today. It is very nice to have lots of trees but they cause so much problem with the roofs and gutters.
