Obama Health Care ... I learned this ...

Obama Health Care ... I learne...
I learned this yesterday. Because of the health care bill President Obama and Democrats passed, there is no lifetime limit to the healthcare coverage. This is a great news to the people who has to take care of sick family member. But at the same time, make sure the hospital and healthcare system treat this as a blank check they received.

The problems with the healthcare are not only limited to an insurance providers. We must look at healthcare industry including healthcare workers and their compensations.

Why, Why Not!

Don't get comfortable with the way things are. What you doing may be not what people expect you to do. You may be comfortable with where you are, but that means you are not improving. If you are not improving, you are declining from the eyes of everyone who are improving.

Keep making things better ... Keep trying ... keep changing ... keep evolving.

Can't you just say "Hello?"

Can't you just say "Hello?"
Do you trust to work with anyone who cannot even say "Hello?" Some people just do know have a decency to say "Hello." Those people are just rude and inconsiderate.

I do not accept anyone working for PSPINC to be rude or inconsiderate. Nor I want to deal with anyone or any company if they can not even say "hello."

There is an App Store for Ma...
Today's update installed the OS-X version of Apple App Store. Until now, App Store was for iPod, iPhone and iPad. Now (almost) all the software you need for Mac OS-X is now at your fingertip.

You can see a clear marketing strategy of Apple. They are going to get paid for everything and anything that goes on your Mac. If Microsoft did this, they will get into so much trouble. Why do you think Apple can get by with it? Or can they?

Public Mass Transportation

thread
Public Mass Transportation
I think all of the mass transit (rail systems) in Japan are privately owned (publicly held). It means no tax money is used to used to build, maintain and upgrade the rail system. Unless I am mistaken, all rail systems except AMTRAK are owned and operated by government or government agencies. Although, AMTRK is a privately held company, the government must pour tax money into it every year.

When the businesses are owned by the government, there is no accountabilities. There is no incentive to make money. There is no reason to provide better service or cut cost. When the Japan Rail was Japan National Rail, owned and operated by the government, there were fair hike every year. There were national strike by the workers every year. But since it became private company, I do not recall any strike or increase in the fair since 1986.

Can we let AMTRAK go bankrupt?
Why not?
Why should tax payer pay for the failed business to continue?
AMTRAK serves only 25 million people every year.

I am against government bailing out any private company. Let it fail. People will learn from that. If the government keep helping them, there is no reason to succeed. I would like to see privately held mass transit system in the US.

To build the new bridge

thread
To build the new bridge
In order to build the new bridge over Lake Washington, the State is putting a toll on the bridge. They say it can cost as much as $6 to cross the bridge one way. It is not like we are not paying tax already, they are asking us to pay in addition.

The State is not cutting their spending to ask us for more money.

The reason why I put this picture is that it had Microsoft TAG. It is very interesting that the State decide to put Microsoft TAG instead of popular QR Code.

The term "QR Code" is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.

Trust

thread
Trust
The chinese character you see above represents a word TRUST. There are two parts to this character. Left has two strokes. This represents PEOPE. And the right side represents WORD.

The word TRUST is made up with PEOPLE + WORD. What does it tell you?

Well, people trust the words you speak not the action you take. Chinese characters has more than 4,000 years of history behind, so they are telling us something.

You must know the words you speak are more important than the action you take. Your action is important, but without letting people know what you did, it does not generate any TRUST.

This is kind of sad ... but it is so true.
