What is the point of having an internal mail server? I am currently developing an in-house mail server at my company, Pacific Software Publishing, Inc.

I think the biggest advantage of having an in-house mail server is that there is no capacity or account limit. For example, if I wanted to create and manage 500 email accounts, the cost would be higher than if I wanted to create and manage 100 email accounts. However, if you have an in-house mail server, this problem goes away.

Now let's think about the disadvantages. There are many disadvantages, so I will list them here.

• Challenging to set up a server
• SPAM countermeasures are difficult
• Can't deal with abnormalities on the server
• Managing accounts isn’t easy

To solve these problems, the mail server we are developing will be operated through our mail server infrastructure. In short, we will manage all of the mail flow so that even if the mail server is broken, there will be no problem in sending and receiving mail until the internal server is restored. We also perform all SPAM and virus checks in advance.

Once you sign up, we will set up and send you a mail server. We will soon be offering a service that provides a large and stable mail environment at a low cost. With this server there will be no limits on mail capacity or on the number of accounts (there are hardware limitations) - please stay tuned.
