ハナイカダ（花筏）　ハナイカダ科（Helwingiaceae）
学名： Helwingia japonica (Thunb.) F.Dietr. subsp. japonica 
《  泉の森・野鳥観察デッキ付近で見れる樹花〝4月花XXXIII〟❖ ’24/04/21 ❖ 》
ハナイカダ（花筏）;
日の当たらない多湿の林内に生える、高さ1-2mほどの落葉低木。
全株無毛。枝は葉痕がいぼ状に残り、上部でよく分枝する。
葉は互生し、卵円形、表面に光沢がある。
雌雄異株で、葉の表面の主脈に淡緑色の小さな花を数花つける。
花には萼は無く、短い花柄がある。果実は秋ごろ黒く熟し、液質。
小鳥が好んで食べる。 
和名は葉の中央に小さな花がつき、葉の筏に乗っている様に見える事に由来する。
ミズキ科からハナイカダ科に分離された。
