Interesting Statistics
Did you know that there are significant differences in the selection of car transmissions in the United States, Europe, and Japan? While this is not the case in the computer industry, regional and environmental differences indeed make a difference in product selection.
How to Choose a Transmission
The ratio of manual transmissions:
U.S. 5%
Europe 51%
Japan 8%
The ratio of automatic transmissions:
U.S. 68%
Europe 23%
Japan 26%
The ratio of CVT transmissions:
U.S. 19%
Europe 1%
Japan 46%
The ratio of DCT transmissions:
U.S. 3%
Europe 20
Japan 2%
Needless to say, manufacturers understand and analyze the region in which they sell their vehicles, and provide transmissions that are required within that region. It would be incorrect to assume that just because a product is selling well in one's own country, that a product with the same specifications would sell well in other countries. It is impossible to tell whether a product would sell well in Japan just because it does in the U.S. Or, conversely, whether a product would sell well around the world because it does in Japan. If you are thinking of expanding into the U.S., Japan, or Europe, it is important to know the market. Thanks to the Internet, a certain amount of research can now be done online. It has become a convenient age.
